I visited here on my birthday 27 February. The place, as the name suggests is pure vegetarian. This restaurant in Hotel Alka Palace located in CP. Retro Bollywood music playing in the background, art on the wall that is a pretty interesting read while you're waiting for your meal to be served.
Finding a place like this to dine with your family these days is truly rare. We started our meal the true Indian way with a nice and chilled glass of jal jeera. By that we mean that they do not put any onion or garlic into their food. All their preparations are done in desi ghee and that's the reason why their food is able to retain the authentic taste of the dish.
We tried a lot of dishes. For starters - 1. Clay over platter - this had clay oven aloo, vegetable seekh kebab, paneer tikka and charcoal mushroom. All the dishes stood out, especially the succulent paneer that tasted amazing with the mint chutney they serve. MUST TRY 2. Assorted Kebab platter - It has naram dil kebabs, dahi ke sholey and hara hara kebabs. the Naram dil kebabs totally were a charm, they were truly delectable with a crispy outer covering and a soft inside filled with dahi & paneer. For mains, we ordered the Maharaja Thali, which costs Rs. 675+taxes per person.. it includes a snack, soup, lassi/thandai/jaljeera for starters.. for mains, they serve dal makhani, paneer, vegetable of the day, gatta curry, rice, dahi Bhalla, assorted bread basket, puris.. In the thali, they serve two desserts - Kheer and Matka Kulfi.. both the desserts are not to miss.. You must definitely go for their thali.. its UNLIMITED. Totally a steal deal with n number of refills. Must try! Highly recommended for all Vegetarian food lovers; its a paradise.

I unexpectedly came across an incredible Pure Veg restaurant near Connaught Place. Upon entering, I was immediately captivated by its fascinating historical theme, showcasing the rich textile culture. The staff were exceptionally polite and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The food was promptly served and met my expectations in terms of both taste and quality. The restaurant maintained high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, which was reassuring. Considering the overall experience, including the ambience, service, and delectable cuisine, the pricing seemed reasonable and justifiable. It was a truly memorable and satisfying dining adventure.

In short - a fantastic Veg restaurant without using onion and garlic.
I went to this restaurant by chance as there was more than 30m waiting in two adjacent restaurant; Sarvana bhawan and Naivaidyam
The ambience was average and we (me, spouse and son) entered wish some hesitation.
We ordered Kashmiri Dum Aloo and Palak Kofta with Kulcha and Tandoori rotis.
They served the food quickly but without onion salad. When we asked the waiter then he told us that no onion/garlic used here. I was surprised.
I was more surprised when we tasted the food. I was wondering how come their food taste so well.

This is one hidden gem in cp and all vegetarian must visit at least once.

Pure Vegetarian food they even don't add onion and garlic, trust me on this that we were unable to guess the same. The taste did not changed at all, Paneer Tikka was juicy and masaledar. The main course was delicious, zeera rice were good along with dal makhni.

Interior was so beautiful and iconic, the wall textures were authentic.
So beautiful and good!

I recently visited this place for Lunch with my own group & came to know this is one of the oldest running restaurant in CP standing still from last 50 years. It's a pure Veg restaurant situated inside Hotel Alka.

We ordered Maggi Nuggets, Cheesy Pao Bhaji,Spicy Aloo Tikki, Quesadilla, Macroni Samosa & Makhani Pasta in starters. The Pasta was great & Maggi Nuggets was the best starters in veg which I had in some time. Cheesy Pao Bhaji need some improvements as the Bhaji was too bland. Spicy aloo was the most spicy starters & is one of the best things to have if you love spicy food. We even had a Pakoda basket which comes with a glass of Cutting chai & was great. The Masala chaap was also greatcrispy & soft at the same time.

We even have a Maharaja Thali whose items changes daily, and has been running from the last 50 years & they sell around 200 such thali's every day as per the chef & the best part is it comes with unlimited filling.Thali is accompanied with a Thandai, Soup, and 2 deserts beside the Main Course & Starter.

I even had a Chur Chur Naan with Dal Makhani and its the best thing I had after I stepped in here. Do give it a try.

This place is perfect for vegetarian lovers. They have an amazing warm ambiance and antique decors, and is best to visit with family.
We tried their veg kebab platter and kurkure paneer, which was super crispy and delicious. Also, had the Maharaja thali which had 3-4 dishes, some breads, rice and gajar halwa. The thali was wholesome and is enough for one person. Overall, had an amazing experience and will definitely visit this place again.

Recently visited this restaurant in Hotel Alka Palace located in CP. Amidst all these modern restaurants, this place truly stands out because of the way they have encaptured the old-world charm of Delhi. Retro Bollywood music playing in the background, art on the wall that is a pretty interesting read while you're waiting for your meal to be served. Finding a place like this to dine with your family these days is truly rare. We started our meal the true Indian way with a nice and chilled glass of jal jeera. We also tried their Oreo shake that was perfectly made. Not too thick, not too watery with chunks of oreo coming into our mouth.

The place, as the name suggests is pure vegetarian. By that we mean that they do not put any onion or garlic into their food. All their preparations are done in desi ghee and that's the reason why their food is able to retain the authentic taste of the dish. In most of the restaurants, most of the gravy dishes typically taste the same because of the key ingredients of onion and garlic but over here, you can easily tell the difference in the taste of every dish.

We started off with the kebab platter - Dahi ke sholey, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, just the way we like it. There was a strong flavour of the fresh coriander and chillis they put in it that we thoroughly enjoyed. Naram dil kebab was a wonderful blend of cheese and herbs, coated with crunchy flakes. Hara bhara kebab was made out of spinach and green peas and it was really spicy.

But what was spicier was the masala aloo that were generously garnished with thinly sliced green chillis. We were so thankful to be having the maharaja thali after this because the thandai they serve with it was the only way we could have curbed the spiciness of the aloos. But it was truly was mind-blowing.

Then came the tomato shorba that is also a part of the maharaja thali. The consistency was thin and light, perfect for comforting us during winter season. The maharaja thali is massive. It's unlimited but the only catch is you cannot share it with anyone. Sarson ka saag gave us the winter feels, chhole masala tasted so different yet so amazing without garlic and onion. The paneer makhani was quite nice and our favourite from the thali was the mixed vegetable. Every dish of theirs was non-greasy, all thanks to the desi ghee. We also had the most unusual dal makhani ever and we finally know what true flavour of this dal is. All this was served with fresh salad, cut fruits, a bowl of kheer, papad and some really exciting breads, starting from butter naan, tandoori butter roti to laccha parantha, pudhina parantha, adhrak parantha and our favourite, green chilli parantha. All of these breads were served hot to us while we are busy demolishing this massive thali. We also enjoyed some kulfi in this chilly weather and finally, to digest this meal ate some meetha pan.

Ample amount of organised seating, great food, amazing service, super chef and all of the nostalgia of Old Delhi will take us back to this place. We are absolutely thrilled to have the great Indian food after such a long time. So happy to have detoxed from all the adulteration. Go to this place if you want to spend some quality time with your parents. Go to this place if you want your kids to experience the traditional way of dining out. Go to this place if you're in the mood to revisit your childhood.

Vega serves the delicious mouthwatering food with all the necessary precautions. Staff was wearing masks and gloves while serving. Recently visited this place and tried their Maharaja Thali, it’s amazing. Even the platter we ordered came in a really good quantity. Really loved the vibe and the ambience of this place. And the best part is unlimited refills. I found the price of Thali very cost efficient . one of the best fine dinings in Delhi. Would definitely love to visit again.

If you are a vegetarian and on a food trail in the heart of Delhi – Connaught Place then you can head to this place without a second thought. A cozy corner spread across a floor with a comfortable chair sitting and dim lights yet sufficiently bright. And if you are thinking what are the options to pick for lunch or dinner from a Vegetarian menu then be rest assured this is something you don’t havehave to worry upon. With their Maharaja Thali on the menu you just have to plan an evening or an afternoon out at Vega. And everything else is taken care of.
Portion size is amazing ... With unlimited refils and the food is amazing more so as they don't use any onion or garlic based gravy so typically the food is Jain Food that is all satvik. So during Navratras this is the ideal place to dine for non vegetarians.

And for vegetarians it's always open.

Additionally do try their Paam Mojito and Masala Aaloo.. loaded with Hari Mirchi Masala Aaloo is one of the best version of potato starters I ever had. This is my 2nd visit and still I have it till the end. ( With chapati also ).

And Paan before you move out of the place is mandatory.

Also I tried their Hot coffee... I loved it bcos it's like the one that I used to have in my childhood days in weddings. Don't expect happening music or modern crowd here. You will get to see a lot of Foreigners , Government officers and food lovers relishing the meal who are all engulfed in the delicacies they serve. And the service is outstanding.
