When we entered we thought it was just another botanical park.
But when we went deep there we found the majestic wonder.
It was like getting transported to Ajanta Elora caves.

There were many colorful birds and squirrels at this place. It is well maintained had a wonderful time here.

One of the best place in terms of architecture and construction of step well. There are depictions of Hindu lords on the walls. This is the place which is displayed in Rs100 Indian currency. There is water available as well however I don’t think it’s good for drinking right now. Well maintained place. There are guides available to explain the history of the place. There are restrooms and parking facilities.

Very silent place.
Try to visit on Weekdays, so you can feel the ancient place and can capture good photos.
Guide also available at extra charges.
Very good landscape outside surrounding this stepwell. Very well maintained and lush green place.

The Stepwell measuring about 64 meter long, 20 meter wide and 27 meter deep is laid out in the east-west direction with well proper in the west. this well has a pillared multi-storeyed pavilion, a drawn well and a large tank for collecting surplus water. it must have been one of the largest and the most sumptuous structure of its kind.

This architectural Indian marvel was on my list for a very long time and I was fortunate to visit it yesterday during my Solo motorcycle ride to Patan.

The site is perfectly maintained and the garden landscaping is exquisite.

The step well is spectacle and I spent a lot of time just admiring the workmanship and how they managed it!

Unbelievably in the perfect condition as it was discovered only in the late 1950s.

Helmets off to ASI for managing the site so well.

100% recommended.

Definitely a place worth visiting.

Special recommendations: take a guide, it's worth it.

Such a amazing architecture, carving, and design. The way it portray our history, legends, is just amazing.

This is a seven floor structure built below ground level. And the way everything is carved out and the patola design is awesome.

This is a must visit place and not be missed.

Most gorgeous Jain gujarati architecture has many steps. Very well conserved by the government of Gujarat. The most gorgeous stone work in a most minimal ticket rates. There is a lot of walk so wear sports shoes and carry caps as it's in open space. The restoration isbdone brilliant and there is ample space to sit and relax. Beautiful garden has been cultivated.

This place is very beautiful. In which everyone can know the history. In which the statues of various Gods are seen. Vishnu, Ganesha, Shiva Parvati, Kuber etc. Rani's Vav is considered to be the best of all the Vavs of India according to its name.

"Rani Ki Vav" in Patan, Gujarat, is a testament to the architectural brilliance of ancient India. This UNESCO World Heritage site, dating back to 1063-1068 AD, is more than just a stepwell; it's a journey through time. Commissioned by Queen Udayamati in memory of her husband, King Bhimdev I, this seven-level marvel is adorned with intricate carvings of deities and mythological figures, reminiscent of an upside-down temple.

The stepwell's grandeur extends beyond its aesthetic appeal. It served as a social hub and a place of worship, reflecting the cultural significance of water in Indian society. Hidden beneath its last step lies a mysterious gate leading to a 30-meter tunnel, shrouding the site in intrigue.

Despite centuries of silt accumulation, Rani Ki Vav remains a symbol of resilience, offering visitors a glimpse into Gujarat's rich history. Its mystical aura, coupled with the legendary medicinal properties of its waters, adds an ethereal charm to this architectural wonder. A visit to Rani Ki Vav is not just a journey; it's an immersion into India's glorious past.

What an amazing place with such historical significance. Do visit for sure and get a good guide (Mr Solanki is the best) ...their commentary is invaluable to understand how this marvel was built, lost and refound. Very nicely maintained gardens too.
Don't forget to visit the nearby shahastraling remain and the Patola shop / workshop.
Worth coming here from London!

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Rani ki Vav, or the "Queen's Stepwell" is a beautiful monument. Sculptures etched along the side walls are exquisite, and represent Avataras of God Vishnu and Goddess Parvati. A good place to visit in summers, you experience a 3-4° drop as you go deeper to near where the water is. The area around the Stepwell has been very well maintained, has lots of greenery and flowers.

Every frame close up or from a distance is picture perfect. Such a surreal experience it was to walk down this inverted 7 storey temple! Also you may have seen an image of this step well on the back of the 100 rupee note!

This UNESCO heritage monument was buried underground believed to have been caused by a devastating flood of the river Sarasvati. It took the ASI almost 2 decades to properly excavate the entire site painstakingly.

It's designed in the Maru Gurjara style of architecture and was built by the Solanki queen Udaymati in memory of her husband.

The Rani Ki Vav World Heritage Site houses 500 principal sculptures and over a thousand minor sculptures, depicting religious, mythological and non-sacred imagery. The upper portion of the pillars have sculptures of women carved in a manner that it appears as if their shoulders are supporting the roof.
