Jila Bakers and confectioners

The chocolate eclairs are great. Many people don't know but these are not eclairs as the normal French ones that we also have in Portugal. There are some traditional cakes that I love that are exactly the same and they were my favourite cakes back in Portugal. You can't get anything of the kind in Goa and I was so happy to see these here. They are very cozy. Whoever wrote that they have some buttery thing is a bit ignorant, sorry to say. In English can call it it custard as some of the Portuguese pastry of the kind are called (when it has the Yellow filling that actually can be made of many different things as almonds,nuts egg yolk, cream...but actually the filling of these cakes are made of delicious egg yolk.

The top most priority place for my Goa trip! Travelled about 30 kms to get my hands on the good stuff! Located in by lanes of Ambora-lotoulim.
The chocolate eclairs were heavenly! Filled with custard and topped with chocolate.
The Geneva Pastry was delicious, perfect crust and sweet.
The melting moments is a must must have! Literally melts in your mouth!
Do place your orders prior to going! Highly recommended.

The best confectioners to have and must visit for! We have had Geneva Pastry, Eclairs and melting moments!! I personally loved Geneva Pastry the most though the other two are no doubt the best as well!! When in Goa do visit and try these lovely soul satisfying confectioners🦋

Eclairs from Jila Bakery.
A definite must try, these are just so creamy and heavenly.
We have been addicted to this from the first time we had this years ago, even now every bite of these Eclairs make us jump with joy.
The thing that stands out in these eclairs from the rest available in the market has to be the rich creamy custard filling.
They are also so reasonably priced.

Prices are extremely affordable.

You can get absolutely delicious eclairs, sweet-savoury delicacies like melting moments and macarons and Geneva pastries. It is a family run business in a quiet little village in Lotoulim.

Eclairs , Plum cake and Geneva biscuits are just fantastic.....it's a must stop place for us everytime we are in the south....

We also took mix assorted biscuits.

Located in a quaint neighborhood in Loutolim you will come across Jila Bakers. For first timers I would suggest following the map and timings too.
A few reviews suggested ordering in advance but on my visit saw a few locals buying things on the spot. But I called in advance and placed my order as per the specialities.
Parking is not available at the location but just a few meters ahead church parking is available (if the church is closed).
Happy to say I really loved what I ordered.

Jila bakery is a charming family owned bakery, operated out of their home in the village of Ambora, South Goa.
My ancestral home is quite close by, so many summer vacations were spent in Ambora; & I always looked forward to Jila Bakery eclairs.
The ‘eclairs’ are technically profiteroles, but they’re so light & fluffy, filled with vanilla custard & a sugary chocolate glaze. You won’t be able to eat just one.
Obviously for me they are all about eclairs, but they have a lot of sweeter baked things, like cookies, melting moments cookies etc. They also do bake cakes on order.
Everything is freshly baked & does get over, so try to go earlier in the day if you want eclairs. They also accept just cash & don’t do deliveries. But they’re a special place & definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

I took plum cake, assorted cookies and eclairs from ma'am (who is very sweet btw)here and it was amazing!
Everything is so cheap yet so delicious!
If you like plum cake, do get a rich plum and try, it's amazing!

This place is one of the oldest bakery in Goa. Loved the products they have. This bakery is in the house and haas great products. Avoid visiting on Sunday’s as they don’t have all the products made during Sunday’s. But weekdays they have great products to try.

Just love the eclairs and melting moments. Jila bakery has never disappointed with the quality.

A historically known place for good bakes. Rumour has it that Indira Gandhi, erstwhile Prime Minister of India used to order her favorite bakes from here!

Their product range is vast, ranging from from coconut cookies to assorted cakes and pastries, struddels and custard filled eclairs... They are all amazingly delicious.

They use traditional baking methods instead of modern ovens and microwaves. A must visit if you're staying in South Goa. They make most of their products on request. Prior to ordering, don't forget to ask what they can do for you, because you'll be surprised by the sheer tastefulness of their delicacies.

Coconut cookies, plum cakes, eclairs and coconut butter cake are a must try.

Heard a lot about this place, so I had to visit it at least once. So i bought their famous eclairs. Eclairs were way too tasty and quite reasonable in price as compared to other cafes i have visited. Also tried their walnut cake. Cakes are fresh and the taste of fresh walnuts is exceptional. Great quality and quantity.

Ohh God. This place provides you with suuch great deserts and cookies that will satisfy your soul. I had their famous Eclairs and it was mind blowing. The only issue is travel. Its too far for people traveling from North to South.
But worth travelling.

Residential place. Take out available. Amazing custard filled eclairs and one of the best apple strudel. Easy on the pocket too

This place is so yumm!!! I suggest to please visit this place once in ur lifetime. Trust me, it won't disappoint. Make sure to place ur order 24hrs before visiting to avoid disappointment as they are mostly sold out. Signature dish is Choclate Eclair, Coconut Cookies and Cashew Cookies. Don't forget to try their melts.
