Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking Starting Point

If you dont feel like trekking all the way up like we did you can get a jeep ehich would take you half way or motor cross which gets you very close with like 15mins walk left only
From the bottom takes about 1h walk to the top.
Bring extra shirt to change as it would be noce to have some dry clothes to wear after the trekking and dont forget watter
No toilet up there si do your things before getting up there
Beutiful sun rise with monkeys coming up as the sun rises so dont forget to bring some treats :-)

I didnt really Know what to expect from this but it was worth the money, for sure. We got up in the Middle of the night, got picked up by a driver who took us to the bottom of the mountain. There was a guide waiting for us, they provided us with a flashlight and a walking stick. The hike up there is hard! You really have to be fit! You can also take a motorcycle to the top if you would like that.
The view is in one word, amazing! At the top we got Breakfast ( included in the price)
After 1,5 hours or so we decided to go down by motorcycle ( not included in the price). The Guides and motorcycle People there are super friendly!
If you get the chance to do this, do it, you Will not regret it. Only watch out for the monkeys at the top, they steal stuff.

We had an amazing day on our private jeep tour to mount batur with Bali Jeep Adventure.
Our driver, Mr. Top, picked us up at our hotel and brought us to our jeep driver, Mr. Ketut, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. He drove us to the sunrise point at mount batur, where we enjoyed a stunning view of the volcano and the lake. He also took beautiful pictures of us with his camera. After the sunrise, we drove to the lava fields, where we learned about the history and geology of the area. It was very interesting and fun to see the different formations and colors of the lava. To finish the day, we went to the batur hot springs, where we relaxed in the warm water and enjoyed a delicious lunch in a forest setting. It was a perfect way to end our adventure. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the beauty and culture of Bali in a unique and exciting way. Thank you, Mr. Top and Mr. Ketut, for making our day unforgettable!

Mount batur is an active volcano and to reach on top of Mount batur to witness the world's best sunrise is the most rewarding gift you can give yourself if you are in bali. The trek begins at morning 4 which means you have to leave your hotel by 2am ( depending on loaction) sunrise is usually around 6.10am and it takes around 1hr 45mins of walk to reach on top , the walk is not easy and some of the areas are quite steep upwards ,there are localites offering bike/moped services (they charge around 200000-300000) to take you on top (depends how good you can bargain) . Make sure to carry a sweater or any winter clothing as it is very cold during the trek and also on when you reach at peak to witness sunrise it's super cold.

Amazing climb, our guide called Yuli was amazing. Climbed to the top with our dog also. Not an easy climb, took 2hrs 45mins. But worth it.

One of the best things I've done. The hike is quite strenuous but it's totally worth it.

We booked an ATV on Black Lava with this tour operator and loved the experience! Would recommend doing it if you’re in the area! Around 2 hours for 750k!

Very nice trip with a new but great guide. Because we couldn't see the sunrise, because of the clouds, our guide showed us an not so ordinary path back, which was a really cool experience.

really rewarding and beautiful experience! I booked it through the hotel I was staying at, and I thought it was reasonably priced. The tour guide was very helpful, I wouldn't try to do it without one if you aren't an experienced climber. Even if you are, I don't know, it's really dark (like you can only see a few steps ahead of you and it's steep and gravelly) and the guide knows where to go and can give you a bit of history as well. Wear hiking boots if you have them, I didn't and I was ok, but it'd be a lot better to have them. Also, bring a ton of water, you'll go through it fast climbing up. And wear layers. Watching the sunrise from the top was absolutely amazing. I think it was about 2-2 1/2 hours up. The only thing I didn't enjoy was some really obnoxious Americans standing in front of everyones view to take selfies and being loud when everyone else was quiet just trying to watch the sunrise in peace, but what can you do. Overall it was a great experience.

Best hike in bali

If you want to avoid the local mafia and hike the mountain by yourself this is a good starting point. If you start the trekking at night you won't probably be spotted.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not the main route for the mountain trekking, it's a secondary path that will eventually lead you to the volcano summit path if you take the right pathways in the crossings. Except for the first one, always take the ones that lead you UP or LEFT.

One of the most momentous hikes of my life. You track a live 🌋, the thrill of a steep 6km climb, and the mesmerising sunrise views. Out of this world and unmatched beauty. Highly recommended activity in Bali.

One of the most extraordinary experience in my life. The hike starts at 1 am with my driver picking me up. We arrive at 2.30 and we have to choose between two roads: the easy and the hard one. The hard one is shorter yet you may have to use your hands and legs. The easy one is longer and motorbikes pass by every now and then. We arrived by sunrise. The view was one-in-a-lifetime. Though we were all tired we really enjoyed the view and took many amazing pictures.

Her hands are magic, all three of us who got massages agreed that this was in our top 3 massages in our life. Can’t wait to book her in a few days time again
