Helpful staff, friendly, strict to the rule, clear procedure. Only documents and wallet are allowed to enter the building. If you bring a bag, you can leave in your car, or storage it in Indomaret minimarket nearby. I got the result directly after interview. Thank you US Embassy Surabaya.

It's guarded, and every visitor will be checked thoroughly. The security were kind and friendly. The staffs giving the "keep it professional" vibe. All instructions and questions are clear and to the point.

The consulate staffs were polite and conscientious. Don't stop at the first gate, that's not for the visa applicants. Go a few meters ahead, there's a tent for waiting if you come early. Even though the website said not to bring a cell phone and a hand bag (which I followed to the t being an attentive and careful person), others brought them to the consulate. So, the staff gave a basket to store those additional items inside the security building and only documents to bring inside the interview office. The interviewer was kind. After that, I had to call to ask follow up questions. The staff cleared my doubts - don't be deterred by the moody tone. It's not easy answering questions day in and day out.

Very well secured place, but the staffs are really friendly. I don't need to feel as if I'm suspected for something up to no good compared to any other high-secured place. Frequently they held educational or cultural events there, which is nice to visit.

Here for applying visa. They have a very good secure system. You no need to bring many stuffs with you because it is not allowed to bring anything but paper and your body. Meals are not allowed. Always bring your identification card. Do not make noise in a waiting room for interview.

The first time I came here... Cause I attended a seminar that was how to make good essay. It was raining when I came there, then I parked my motorcycle in the crossing street of the consulate building. Everyone got strict checking before we can enter the building. It's really such an honour to enter this place.

I have visited this office for an education consultant (for my master study plan) in the library. The office is cool, big and the staff is friendly. There is a public library you can visit. The library provides many books you can't find in Indonesian bookstores such as American history, American politics, etc.
