Airports play a pivotal role in the modern transportation network, serving as gateways to the world and facilitating the movement of people and goods across vast distances. Their importance cannot be overstated, as they are the first and last points of contact for travelers and are critical for global connectivity.

One of the key aspects of airports is their infrastructure, which includes runways, taxiways, terminals, and various support facilities. A well-designed and efficiently managed airport ensures safe and seamless travel experiences. Furthermore, the availability of customs and immigration services streamlines international travel, making customs clearance swift and convenient.

Airports are not just transit hubs; they also contribute significantly to local and national economies. They generate jobs, attract businesses, and stimulate tourism. Many airports have evolved into bustling economic centers, fostering commercial activities and driving innovation.

Environmental concerns are also a growing priority in airport operations. Sustainable practices, such as energy-efficient buildings and the use of alternative fuels, are being embraced to reduce the environmental footprint of airports.

In conclusion, airports are the lifeblood of global travel and trade, offering much more than mere transit points. They are integral to economic growth, fostering international connectivity, and evolving to meet the demands of the 21st century while addressing environmental challenges. Their significance in today's world is undeniable.

The seats are not bad, the air in almost every room is fresh and most importantly the information systems in the Airport are working well.

The Musholla room, Toilets, etc seem clean and good.

Good airport, clean and easy to navigate (the signs helps) for me the only lack is free smoking area inside the terminal building (the one exists in cafe, restaurant or food seller that say you must buy something before use)

Juanda has a very clear section and direction. International goes to T2, domestic goes to T1. If your airlines is garuda it's T1A, if your airlines is super jet (and many others) it's T1B, lion and batik on T1C. But do not worry, between T1A to C is close to each other and can be reached by walking. But beware that T1 and T2 is far away.

Juanda Int' Airport (Surabaya)

My friend's laptop went missing after I have forgotten to take it with me when I abruptly moved to another seat, to charge my handphone, at the departure gate 8. I was supposed to mind the two carry-on bags and 2 laptop bags while my friend was trying to get us on an earlier flight home to KL. We frantically searched for the laptop, but both knew someone had taken it.

Thank God for the two-hour flight delay that gave us some time. So, feeling very uneasy and visibly upset, I went to see the airport security which is located downstairs, while my friend walked back and forth the departure gate, looking, hoping and praying. But deep inside us, the laptop was a goner.

After 75 minutes, I came back, with heart still beating with anxiousness, escorted by two security men. They then ushered us to a 65+ year old man sitting in the Gloria Jeans cafe near the boarding gate, surrounded by another four security men. My friend and I couldn't believe our eyes when I saw the laptop case on the cafe table.

Earlier on, when the security team told showed me that through the CCTV footage, they have found the laptop and the suspect, I was still in a disbelieve state. Sure or not, I ask?

The old man protested his innocence and claimed he was preparing to pass the case to 'loss & found'. But clearly, he was operating under 'finders keepers' and had no intention of returning it. Apparently, the security searched and found the laptop inside his backpack.

After verifying it was indeed my friend's laptop, he asked the chief security what he should do. The chief looked at us and said, "maaf dia"(forgive him). So, without a word to the old man, we turned away and went to board the plane.

Kudos and great work to the airport security, especially for pak Kaharudin Siregar, Air Asia Surabaya Duty Manager and pak Sitorus (family name), Airport authority Juanda AVSEC division for going the extra mile in finding the culprit through CCTV. Both of us were overjoyed to have my friend's laptop back and am thankful for the services of these two great men. We were both rejoicing on the trip home.

This is what we call an exemplary and outstanding customer service at Juanda Int's airport team.

Praise God!

There aren't many airports you can checkin luggage and get a boarding pass for an international flight 25 minutes before departure. So happened to me this morning. The checkin staff was friendly and didn't even give me the usual reply I get in Hong Kong ("You're very late, Sir!"). Security and Immigration was a breeze, and my baggage arrived safe and sound with me at my destination.
Given this accommodation, I can only rate it 5 stars. That said, it would be nice if T1 and T2 were connected, but alas, that is not going to happen.

Quick and comfortable airport.

Good flight connections from this city.

The airside has many good food & beverages options.

The ground transport is quick and cheap, grab is the recommended app based taxi.

If you are a tourist / visitor to Indonesia then make sure to buy your sim card from the airport, as they will register your phone IMEI to work for a few weeks, city SIM card vendors cannot do this.

A few months back, I flew from Juanda airport to Jakarta. The airport had some renovations going on, which made it more convenient overall with some good shops. Terminal 1 has been renovated and serves domestic flights (Garuda, Citilink, Pelita, Batik, Lion, etc.). It looks spacious and not too crowded.
There are plenty of food and beverage options offering traditional foods and local delicacies, which are great for last-minute gifts. The seating is decent, the air is fresh in most areas, and the airport's information systems work well.
The prayer room, toilets, etc., seem clean and nice. What I appreciated most were the ♿ accessible ramps, washrooms, Accessible Car parking and elevators, which make it easier for people with different abilities.

The check-in and security processes were relatively swift, and I found the airport staff to be courteous and helpful. The airport staff I encountered were generally friendly and willing to assist with any inquiries or concerns

The airport is generally clean and well-maintained. I didn't encounter any major cleanliness issues during my visit. The waiting areas and restrooms were adequately clean and tidy.

There is a good variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes throughout the airport, providing ample options for dining and shopping. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or some last-minute souvenirs, you'll find choices that cater to different tastes and preferences.

The airport offers various transportation options to the city center, which is convenient. Taxis, ride-sharing services, and shuttle buses are readily available.

While no airport is perfect, Juanda Airport succeeds in providing a pleasant and convenient journey for travelers passing through Surabaya.

The top 3 of the largest & busiest airports in Indonesia, which has about 26 destinations. The airport is clean, the facilities are complete, including airport hotel, F&B tenants, ATMs, large parking lot, etc.

Main airport in Surabaya.

For arrival, you almost miss the baggage carousel and go to the exit. I think its location is quite bad and unfriendly for travelers. From arrival gate to the exit is really close. It is nice. Once you go through the exit door, "taxi rush" welcomes you!

For departure, there is a huge space and not compact. As far as I remember, there are a souvenir shop, a restaurant, and a Starbucks, etc. Chairs are not comfortable or suitable for a long sitting. Anyway, everything is clean and well-maintained.

I went to lombok from Juanda Airport. This airport is quite busy. This airport for toilets is quite clean, but for domestic waiting rooms it's quite dirty, because the awareness of passengers to maintain cleanliness is very bad. It's a shame for an airport as good as this, the passengers don't take care of cleanliness.

Terminal 2 Juanda International Airport. Terminal for international departure and arrival. Simple layout and easy to access. Little bit crowded during umrah season but still under control.

Small and lean airport. Short distances to everything with choices of food and amenities. For meals, it's better to dine on the ground floor with many more options. For modern cafes, you have a few with Soerabaja Cafe being the newest. For AirAsia, it's compulsory to have a paper boarding pass. Did not print and had to turn back after security clearance. Plenty of seatings pass security near the gates. There's a small souvenir shop should you need to buy last minute items.
