Shindu Homestay

Great price-performance ratio. The family is very friendly and very welcoming. My room was small, but great for the first couple of days in Ubud. City Center in easy walking distance. Also felt very safe as a woman travelling solo on their property.

Amazing place and amazing owner the room was very nice clean and comfortable for the price. Also have hot water and laundry service which I felt was better than the laundry shops. The place is always open so you can go anytime and enter anytime. The AC DOES the job pretty well. If you happen to be vegetarian go for the Balinese cake it is sweet and better than the other option rice porridge.

Everything is great.
I don't know what to add or describe here, in a nutshell:
1) cheap.
2) comfortable (very cool bed).
3) nice people, even tea and coffee at the entrance offer, it is nice.
4) well-maintained area.
5) there is a breakfast and at least at 6 am you will make it.
6) in the center

We loved Balinese Sweet for breakfast in the morning. The family was very welcome and always bring us warm water to make coffee or tea in the morning and afternoon. Very cheap but quality rooms. Not far from city centre. Market is 5 minutes away. Breakfast in the morning. They do tours, taxi, bike, laundry. Quiet place to sleep, but close to nice restaurants and bars. Bathrooms are massive, very clean and look new. No air-conditioning in the room, but there was a modern Panasonic ceiling fan, which to my surprise cooled the room perfectly. I would come here again, everything was great.

This place has been really lovely to stay. The family that lives here is very kind and welcoming and I feel really safe here. The environment is peaceful and serene and it has been a very nice landing pad for me as I arrive here in Ubud for the first time.

I spent a month here and was very happy. I would recommend one of the newer rooms; I upgraded halfway through my stay and it was definitely worth the extra $1.50 CAD per night. The hosts are very sweet. The location was very convenient for me to do an early morning yoga practice in the town centre each day.

The homestay is in a perfect location. It's just outside of the main street. The family is really friendly and helpful. There is always hot water available at the table outside of your room (to make tea). Including some fruit :). The bed and shower were not really comfortable but this was no problem for us.

Very good value for money. Nice, super clean rooms, a pretty garden and the breakfast is also very good. The bed is really comfy. You can rent good motorbikes for 60k IDR a day, and do washing for 20k a kilo. They booked a trip for us to Gili from the homestay for 225k IDR/person, which is the cheapest I’ve seen even when googling online. Highly recommend.

I had an amazing stay in Shindu homestay! Oka and his family are super kind, they make you feel like home. The breakfast is delicious (specially the banana pancake!) and there's even traditional Balinese options. The rooms are very clean and bright, there's hot water and free coffee and tea. I can assure that it was the best place where I stayed in Bali. If you want a warm and perfect stay then I highly recommend you to stay in Shindu homestay.

Simple, clean, well located, and managed by a really friendly local family. Scooter rental is available. Try the sweet Balinese breakfast to start your day in Ubud the right way.

Had a great stay at Sindu Homestay. The owner family was very nice and made me feel like home in their home.
Breakfast was always delicious and in the evening there was either some fresh fruit or some delicious cookies waiting for me at my outdoor space.
Make sure to visit Kecak Fire & Trance Dance (Pura Dalem Taman Kaja) as it is only a two minutes walk from the homestay.
It's also only a few minutes walk to the main road and you can find a lot of nice warungs, restaurants and bars on the way.

Shindu homestay is a family business where everyone is super nice and welcoming. They help your every need and service is very good. If you are into learning Indonesian/Balinese and act politely, they we'll spend long time chatting and correcting you. Their English could be better but is more than enough for getting whatever you may need.

Quiet room tucked away in a small street of Ubud. Run by a family and serve traditional Balinese sweet breakfast. Fantastic location which is a short walk away to the Ubud market. Cheap local warungs and chic bars are on the same street. Highly recommended.

The best place to stay... The family is so friendly, cheap, clean... 5 min from the Palace. It is my second time in Ubud and both times I have chosen this place, and when I come back, I will stay here for sure... Love it
