Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA)

The airport is spacious and clean. Baggage claim is pretty fast. You can find your way easily here. There are some featured places such as the Malioboro stalls, stages for traditional dancer and musicians and domed pool when you pass from the 1st floor to airport train

An excellent airport that served Yogyakarta with traditional architecture and local artwork. The airport was clean and well maintained. It was a bit crowded but lots of space to move around. The security and staff were friendly and check-in process went smoothly.

New airport with a lot of facilities in Kulon Progo. Quite far from Yogyakarta city center but you can catch a train for only 20k rupiah to and from here. The facade of the arrival/departure terminal is grandeur but still retain the traditional Javanese gate and overall design.

This airport is very new and modern. Lots of vendors around and lots of transportation options. This is Yogjakarta's international airport but it is located quite far outside of Yogjakarta. An easy way to get to or from Yogjakarta is by the airport express train which is quick and cheap but it is recommended that you buy the train tickets beforehand.

Brand new airport in Jogja. Cool place and well positioned layout. Good service and enough facilites.

The location is far from city but you can reach by using airport train with cheaper price and cut off time than using online transportation.

The new airport is beautiful, clean, huge, efficient, it had small shops to buy souvenirs after the checkin so it doesn’t count against your allowance. Has also lots of outlets to eat just in case you couldn’t have a byte before leaving for airport or got stuck in traffic, it is just a little far from city center, without traffic conjunction it takes about 25 minutes. Can imagine in rush hour it take take much longer.

This is a Brand New Yogyakarta Airport. It’s clean, friendly, lots of restaurants from local to international fast foods. The announcements come in 3 languages; Bahasa Indonesia, English & Java (their ethnic language). Waiting area provides lots of charging plugs on the seats (selected), lounges seats with massage (pay), very clean washrooms. However, location is (still) in rural no house development (just yet). Since it’s brand new (just over 2yrs here after building) they haven’t completely finished with more services but no hassle of whatever you need to do. Very impressive!

Really impressed by the modern and spacious airport.
It has floor to ceiling glass facade thus allowing the interior to be brightened by natural sunlight.
The glass facade has direct view to the tarmac, it will be a heaven for aircraft enthusiasts to check for aircraft movements.
My only grouses will be the distant to the city center which takes easily 1.5 hr to reach, the other will be the narrow passageway to the immigration counters for international departures. It can become a bottleneck if there are more than 1 international departure.

The airport surprisingly good, clean, and very convenient. Also it have connecting train if you want to go to city center.

The international airport which is the pride of Yogyakarta people, various flight destination, modern and comfortable. This airport is located in Kulon Progo area, west of the city of Yogyakarta. The airport which became the main entrance for visitors both local and foreigners to entered Yogyakarta. The place is comfortable with a modern design, neat and clean area. There are various types of public transport to go to this place, there are taxi, bus and train. There is a large parking area for visitors.

Clean and nice airport. Smoking rooms are available. Toilet is huge and clean with all the essentials and more.

Newly built international airport in Jogjakarta. Child friendly. Artsy. Easy transport to town using train (make sure you have enough time in case you board from the city). ETA 45-60 mnts and the train station quite far from the check in counter. Cafes, restaurant, maternal room, available.

You can take KAI transit from Center for Yogyakarta city to this airport where only charges around 8000Rp, the airport is quite new where not a lot of shop is ready to serve the customers.

An international airport with Javanese art buildings and culture, has clean toilet facilities, a prayer room and a playground for children.
The aircon was improved and cooler.

Please give a trolley in departure gate.. So its easily the passenger carry their stuff

Nice new airport replacing the small old airport. Still relatively quiet due to its distance from the city of Jogja and the vastness of space. Smooth transitions from plane to customs to immigration to pick-up (if your documents are in order especially when your tax/custom declaration is completed online before arriving).

What a Beautiful airport! Quite proud Indonesia has more international airport like this one, integrated with express train bound to city center and also the airport concept more like gallery inside, so many artworks and paintings from local and national artists on display and it all amazing. YIA are truly an international airport that brings out the best of the local wisdom as a Yogyakarta identity.
The airport is spotless and all staff are very friendly and helpful.

One of the best airports in Indonesia, there's also a commuter train station that connects to the city center of Yogya.

New and clean airport in Yogyakarta special region. And YIA will be the third largest airport in Indonesia. 👍
