Rujak Cingur Joko Dolog

Simple warung in Surabaya, East Java, serve delicious rujak cingur, a unique local Surabaya salad. Boiled veggie, tofu, tempe & assorted fruit topped with boiled cow's nose (you may omit it) & poured with special petis sauce.

Be prepared to queue up to enjoy it. Cheap & ample portion. Limited parking at the edge of the rather narrow street. Very recommended for the taste.

The signature dish from Surabaya, made of mix vegetables and black prawn-paste with spicy taste. Located behind the Apsari Park near the Grahadi, this legendary food already served since 1965. The price range from IDR 20-25k is quite cheap for locals and tourist. They served Rujak Cingur, Rujak manis (mix fruit with brown sugar sauce), and Rujak Tolet as their masterpiece.

Don’t get fooled by the humble entrance and the compact place eatery warung-style. No aircon, no other fancy silver ware.
This is my first ranked option out of so many to get Rujak Cingur; traditional culinary of Surabaya aside from pecel semanggi, whenever visiting Surabaya.

Rujak Cingur; it is an originally Indonesian salad.
The sauce was not vinaigrette nor oil based cream, but it’s crushed peanut and shrimp paste, mixed on large pestle mortar with palm sugar some bird-eyes chillies, tamarind and shredded young raw banana.
The salad consists of cuts of lightly fried soft tofu, tempe, some blanched veggies, cuts of fresh fruits, and boiled cow’s lip (chewy but not rubbery)

Parking can be a hassle if you go there during prime lunch time. Go early or later, but you have to be cautious as close to 2-3 PM it’d be sold out.

Beside Rujak Cingur, you can have Rujak buah (fruit salad) and Kolak (sweet coconut milk based dessert).
All dishes served in hearty portion. You’ll never leaving hungry after finishing a portion of Rujak and Kolak.

Service is efficient and hospitable. The owner always genuinely smiling.

The place is walkable from Gubeng train station. So, if you have a long hang time waiting in between your train boarding time, this is one option to go to.
Jalan Pemuda and Walikota Mustajab has trees and greenery and the pedestrian lane is great for strolling.

Rujak Cingur, an original food from Surabaya. The food contains various vegetable plus lips beaf of cow then poured by spicy black souce (shrimp sauce). The taste is yummy and also fresh as well as strange

Rujaknya enak, bumbunya kental dan berasa. Dari dulu rasanya gak berubah, tetep enaakk. Harganya saat ini udah 32rb per porsi.

Salah satu penjual rujak cingur yg legendaris di surabaya.
Enak petisnya medok dan kacang yg trasa dan juga agak kasar.
Porsinya pas cukup untuk 1orang.
Rame...
Tempat nya gak luas.
Banyak yg bungkus bawa pulang sih. Oh iya klo bungkus porsinya lebih buanyak dehh...

Enak rujak cinggurnya , medok harga 30ribu perporsi , ada kolak juga , ada lahan parkir mobil sepanjang jalan , warungnya biasa kaki lima tapi rasanya gak ngecewain
