Csali Csárda

This lakeside inn specializes in traditional Hungarian dishes and it is a local favorite - so reserve a table and arrive on time. The 30 minute drive up into the hills from Budapest’s castle district is well worth the trip for the crispy fish appetizer, the strawberry soup (on the Hungarian menu, but not the English translation), the grilled turkey breast with vegetables with the fresh dill sauce or the nicely-plated fish & chips on the fish-shaped platter. They even have a kids’ menu with the universally-appraling chicken fingers with fries.

One of our favourite places in Hungary! Great food next to a lake. It is usually very busy on the weekends so it’s a good idea to book a seat via phone beforehand, but both the service and food are always good!

Excellent service and lovely atmosphere. Food is delicious and you get served huge amounts of it! Hungarian specialties, mostly fish and meat but have vegetarian options too.

Great traditional dishes (5 sort of fish soup!) and the portions are generous.
The lake gives a great panorama and the little playground is ideal for the kids.
Also great for small weddings!

Typical and original Hungarian ‘Csarda’ renowned for classic dishes. We have been coming here for 4 years + and my Wife has visited this institution since she was a child. It’s a small family run eatery and the food is always delicious, the service fabulous and you just can’t beat it!

Nice location by the side of a small lake. Good choice of meals, sometimes a couple of special ones, too. Fish soup is legendary. The staff is friendly and the service is fast, considering they offer a lot of fresh dishes. Seating inside and out although smoking is allowed outside which is a bummer. All in all, I do recommend the place - we keep returning ourselves with the family.

Cosy place at the lake. It is old-school but in the best possible way. With good hearted waiters and great food. Truly it is not a fancy place, but the kitchen knows how to make the dishes with something special.

Lovely restaurant next to lake, always busy but they always find a place for people without reservations, the local dishes are fresh and tasty.
