We only visited the park but it was great. I would think weekends are more crowded, as there were plenty (but not too many) people even at Friday noon. The main building is beautifully renovated, but there is still a lot of work to do on the rest. The park itself is beautiful, the French garden is quite similar to the one of Nagycenk's Széchenyi castle. There are some peacocks, although their environment could be improved. There's a great playground, and a beautiful lake with an island and a peninsula, and a small riverlet feeding it. There's a lot more that we haven't experienced due to our time limit, so make sure you plan for a visit much longer than our 2 hours.

Its a beautiful castle with a nice view from the tower, located in the middle of a huge and lovely green area. Absolutely recommend it

It is a beautiful castle. Very interesting to see how people lived at that time.
There was a guide telling interesting stories and historical fact about the family used to live here and the era. There are also interactive screens and draws for more information and fun facts.

Their cafe worth a visit, georgeus cakes, nice caffee, friendly stuff..

There's also a small gift shop.

All the staff was friendly and very helpful.

Time travel to the 19th century and ongoing. Should you have the opportunity to have a guided tour go for it!

Intetactive cards offer a fantastic individual adventure, but hearing about the Weincheim family from the guide is a much more complex experience.

We absolutely enjoyed our visit to the castle! Everything was beautifully decorated after the renovation. After our tour we had a cup of cappuccino with pastries in the cafe (inside the castle next to the gift shop), and it was such a great experience- to sit in a beautiful room and sip coffee. Definitely recommend to visit if you like castle atmosphere!
P.S. I’d recommend to visit on a weekday. Parking was free.

Beautifully renovated castle, with breathtaking gardens and walking paths.
Inside the castle you can find a museum, which costs relevantly much, the only negativity.
Cafè is very elegant.

Beautifully renovated castle. It has a very nice exhibition and a great view from the tower. It is definitely worth visiting!

The park and the Castle itself was also beautiful. The guide was very nice and interesting. The price is OK for the experience you will have. I was there in autumn

The Wenckheim family "Memory Album" published in 1897 says this about the castle, which was very popular at the time: "Old Snake was opened on June 18, 1879, and was built according to the design of Miklós Ybl at a cost of nearly one and a half million. It is a general opinion that it is the most beautiful castle in the country in terms of style, comfort and princely splendor. Along the Csaba and Arad route, it dominates the plain from a natural height, with its 35 fathom tower, its roof ending in a triple peak, its obelisks and small turrets, it offers a beautiful sight. The entire building was built in the Renaissance style, and its interior is also in accordance with the style; its fine reception rooms, library room and dining room as well as its thirty guest rooms and annexes are truly a sight to be admired. It's hard to write more about it in this limited space, it's definitely worth a look! The description and history of the castle building alone would fill an independent thesis. There is an artificial spring in front of the building, opposite the chapel, the so-called Zsigmond spring (made by Béla Zsigmondy), drilled in 1894, this is a 335 meter deep artesian well."

Never expected to find something like this way down near Békés. So beautiful the castle and the grounds really take you back.

Beautiful castle receives hardly any tourists.

That castle is amazing. Well prepared for visitors. Very interactive which I haven't seen at any other place. Well worth to spend time there. One note. We have tried to call them in advance to book a time. But they didn't pick up the phone. We sent an email which was a good idea. We got an answer and a visiting time as well. Their website a little bit confusing at the moment. On the English page they say the ticket is 2500 ft. But when you are on the Hungarian site it's 3000. The staff were nice and helpful. The garden is nice the little pound is still needs some work but overall AMAZING!!!!

The castle is under reconstruction now.
The park & gardens are worth seeing.

Amazing garden with huge trees, lakes and playground for the kids. The interactive exhibition was interesting and we enjoyed a lot. There were different videos, puzzle games and a VR glass as well.
