A templom 1941-50 között épült észak-déli tengelyben. A déli homlokzat előtti 17 m magas torony 1942-ben készen volt. A mennyezet sík, vakolt.

A 200 kg-os (96 cm) acélharangot Diósgyőrben készítették 1966-ban, felirata: „Ha Isten velünk, kicsoda ellenünk? Róm. 8:31. Öntette Isten dicsőségére a makkoshotykai református egyházközség az Úrnak 1966. évében.” A 93 kg-osat (52 cm) Egry Ferenc öntötte Kisgejőcön, felirata: „Isten dicsőségére öntették a makkoshotykai egyház buzgó hívei Meczner Gyula főgondnok, Kőrössy György lelkész és ifj. Vitányi István algondnok idejében,1914.”
