Buffalo reserve Zalakomár

We visited at 12p.m. it's a very nice reserves very big the animal have plenty of spaces to roam around and be free. We were lucky because we saw the buffalo from very up close but remember this is a reserves NOT a zoo so if the animal feel like going to you they can if they don't and would prefer to be left alone and hide they can. It's cheap and if you really want to see them you can pay the safari ride to see them very close 😀. They are long way to walk and also long distances googles that are available for free. There is also all those little squirrels/ prairie dogs roaming around and a petting zoo with a donkey and goats. Overall very peaceful place good for the animal that they preserved from extinction

Lovely reserve, kept in great condition. Our visit here was very educational, and you can see that the animals here are tended with great care. On the territory you can find two small museums, and activities that can be enjoyed by big and small. The buffalos can be observed in the wild. There is a petting zoo and a bird watching station, and the reserve is introducing other local animals as well, that are able to live here thanks to the reserve. Don't forget to buy the local buffalo products on your way out!

We decided to go and have a look if it was still open at 16:00, as we read it closes at 16:00. We where in luck as it seems it only closes at 18:00.
The walk past all the buffaloes with many informative signs next to the path, we come to an other pasture where at 17:00 another herd of buffaloes is being made to go to the stable.

Really nice place with many buffaloes. There are last 600 of buffaloes in Hungary and 1/3 live here. There is short round trail with many information about these animals. As a bonus you can see many ground squirrels everywhere.

Nice to see these animals outside of a zoo. The carriage driver was very informative & it was great to get so close to the animals too. The footpath route was interesting & some of the buffalo even come right the way up to the fence. Saw gophers for the first time ever too. Ditch tech for the day & do this. You'll not regret it.

Better in the warm season - otherwise animals might be inside. Still a good place with kids too. And they sell homemade meat products!

Massive land area to walk, with about 200 water buffalos wandering around. You can also see a bunch of ground squirrels.

Very nice place to spend to rest. Good place for adults and children also. There are many buffalos which can be seen from short distance during daily activities.

This is an amazing place to take a closer look to these huge animals. Prices are acceptable. The carriage ride is a must! There is a small playground and a petting zoo as well. Clean washrooms.

Beautiful reservation near the lake Balaton, perfect to spend a few hours and enjoy the view and the beautiful buffaloes.

Lovely place but there is little to no place to take shelter from the sun. There are lots of ground dogs and bird species too.

For a symbolic fee, you get the chance to get quite close to these impressive animals. The surroundings are beautiful and the staff are kind.

Great place with all the buffalos. Some are roaming free, some are corralled, but all look very impressive. The environment is well taken care of but the entire place is not too big, maybe 30-35 minutes to walk around. There is a small shop where you can buy buffallo and gray cattle salami and seasonally buffallo mozzarella is also available.
