Lovely day out in the summer! Went with family (1yo and 4yo) so some tips for the parents.
-the route is pushchair accessible (buggy has to be folded on the train)
- good playground at the top station of the train (slides may be hot though)
- only bit not for pushchairs is the walk to the cave and back, but my 4yo did the hike in his own
-took the train up, walked down, the walk back is easy and on tarmac so easy and safe to walk even for children
- along the way you can see ducks, fish, deer
- some stops along the way, even frappe which I didn’t expect 😁 you can buy a trout meal in at least 3 places
- at the bottom station we bought a short pony ride and 5 mins at a bouncy castle, which our 4yo loved

Recommend as an alternative to a day at the furdo 😎

A stunning place to spend your day!
My partner is from Hungary, and she took me there with her family. And I was amazed at how well organised and clean was the whole park. There is a little old-school train that takes ls you to the top, and then you can make your way down to the bottom at a slow pace in a couple of hours, stopping here and there for good photo shoots or a fish and chips break (best I ever had in my life).
Overall - good experience, not expensive and not far from a nearby city.

This place is amazing for some easy hikes. With beautiful lakes, cave and of course the waterfall

Highly recommended, the whole area you can spend 4-5 hours walking, I advise you to wear comfortable shoes and clothes and enjoy the beautiful nature!

Gorgeous walking trail (~1.8 km), easy to walk even with kids or dogs. You also can go up by train.

Great place for a half day/ whole day in the nature with the family. A small train brings you in the heart of a national park. You can have a lot of fun with the children in the "forest school", have a picnic or buy locally grown fish (pisztrang), see a huge cave and a few waterfalls. Totally loved it.

Beautiful place to go. Lot of different locations, the open air museum, easy to walk.

Lovely place, easy walk with dogs or children takes an hour. No fee. Accesible parking near the entrance, payment with credit card accepted.

Nice day trip through a national park there is a train as well, a big open space and kids area on top

Beautiful! We were not the luckiest with the weather, but the walk, the scenery and the colours of autumn make the whole difference.

Szalajka valley is beautiful peaceful, quiet but large valley/ green field with a large picnicking area, play ground, a small restaurant/take out place where you can try the locally raised trout. If you walk down back to the train station (3.5 km) you can see several intersting things: a waterfall, animal, the trout lake.
