Such a lovely place in Egerszalok close to the thermal baths. Demjen village is in the nearby too.
The houses were bulit in the 17-18th centuries and the last inhabitants lived here until the mid 20th century. Now is a little museum, you can walk in the houses. Next door there is a lovely herb garden. They let us to taste the herbs we really like the onion and rosemary 🙂

It's a beautiful museum where you can see how people lived in the caves. Really interesting. There are explanations in hungarian, english and german. The kids loves exploring the different apartements and we did love the 3D film!
I recommend visiting the Cave Apartements.

An interesting place showing an insight to poor peoples' everyday life in the past not so far away. I wish today's poor people would have as much as these folks had.

The 3D movie was a delight it was informative and funny. The cave apartments was also nice, but most of all people was very helpful and friendly.

Very nice and interesting exhibition on the special living conditions in these men-made caves. You can miss the 3D movie though.

Short, but fun tour. Not really apartments, rather a bad translation for dwellings maybe. :D Would make a great AirBnB!
