Cadenela Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil Reviews

🫒 Cadenala - where the art of cultivating the olive fruit meets organic passion. Andrea is one kind of a "tour guide" (in fact, he is so much more as he is also farmer, marketeer, salesman, artist, etc) and he provides for a priceless experience. Despite the cold and windy weather, he warmed our spirits with his fond knowledge of growing olives (without any chemicals and artificial fertilizers) and with a glass of wine to kick things off. We finished with a distinguished tasting of three of his finest oils. An afternoon well spent 🤌

We were lucky enough to have a private morning tour with Andrea, and we came out of it with an even deeper knowledge of olive oil production than we'd acquired from past tours. This "tour" was very pleasantly casual, so much so that it really didn't even feel like a tour at all, but rather just walking with a friend and chatting about olives! The oil itself is of course fantastic, and we appreciated being taught how to properly taste it. Andrea's German Shepherd puppy also accompanied us on our walk through the olive grove, which was a wonderful surprise!

Was looking for somewhere to taste and buy Olive oil on a Sunday and am glad to chance upon Cadenela.
It was a narrow rocky path to their residence, hence we were initially unsure but was quickly warmly greeted by Andrea and Hachi (their puppy).
Andrea facilitated an olive oil tasting session for us, introduced and shared a lot of information with us.
We were really happy with the friendly welcoming experience and the good quality olive oil we bought from her!

My wife and I spent the weekend tasting olive oil in Istria. On our last day (a sunday) we searched open shops on Sunday and we pulled into Cadenela. At first, I thought we had made a mistake because it was a residence! However, we quickly learned, Andrea and his family warmly welcomed us to their outdoor patio, amongst the olive groves. We spend an hour and a half talking with him and his lovely daughter about the olive oil industry, his organic farm, and, of course, tasting his delicious and unique oils. Couldn’t recommend this spot more!

Andrea is very very very passionate about his work of producing high quality olive oil. He took us to his 7.500 olive bush farm and answered all questions (we were in a good flow/mood so we asked a lot). In fact we learned what makes a great olive oil in taste, how it grows, what it takes to produce and how it is connected to the larger picture of general consumption mindset. In a nutshell he will show you “how it is made” and experience the different olive leaves, olive fruits and oils along the tour. He is a great communicator and is very happy to meet international people.

"what is the difference between good and bad olive oil" That was the reason why we went to Candenela to do an olive oil tasting and farm tour. We went there without any detailed knowledge of olive oil, the treatment, the production and so on.

Andrea explained and showed us the complete olive oil chain including all side facts and stories. Therefore we went to his olive tree plantaion. It was very very interesting and we learned a lot.

Tasting the olive oils was a very special experience I did not expect to taste this kind of flavors. Very delicious und tasty!

Furthermore Andrea is a very friendly guy who really wants to make your tour as personal as possible!

In total I would say that I know now the difference between good and bad olive oil and that this experience changed my relation to olive oil!

Many thanks to Andrea to make this afternoon very special!

Best regards und vielen Dank! Micha

The owner, Andrea, hosted us for an olive oil tasting experience during which we learned about the production, industry and consumption of high quality olive oils. It was an outstanding experience and I would recommend it very highly. Andrea is very knowledgeable, hospitable and a great presenter. None of our questions could make him lose his train of thought, after answering each of them thoroughly, he got right back on track. Superb guy, go visit him and try his fantastic quality oils, you won't be disappointed. Just be prepared you might not want to leave with less than a box full of this stuff. No stress though, he accepts cards so shop away!

We had such a good time with Andrea, the owner of Cadenela! He showed us around his olive trees and gave a lot of interesting information about olives and the production of olive oil in general. We got to know, how to pick the right olive oil and especially how to taste the difference between good and bad quality.
You can tell, that Andrea really is passionate about what he is doing and that he is very open minded. Especially the fact, that he produces organic olive oil is remarkable for this area and it shows that he really cares and knows a lot about the environmental issues.

We booked our tour via AirBnB experiences, so take a look, whether there is a free spot in the morning or in the afternoon, you will definitely not regret it!

Thanks a lot for this fantastic afternoon, Andrea! We are really looking forward to make our next salad or vanilla ice cream with your delicious olive oil!

Highly recommend this place. We booked an olive oil tasting as a group of 15. The host asked whether we just want to taste the oil or taste the oil and learn something about growing olives. We of course chose the latter and learned so much about olive oil production, the tree itself, agriculture and food culture. The host is very friendly and really cares about making it a nice experience for everyone. Their garden is beautiful and worth a visit on its own.
I need to stress that it is NOT about selling overpriced products to tourist - the owner wants to share his passion about olives and succeeded doing so.

TL;DR: great and genuine(!) people, superb olive oil, an evening to remember, ~ 1 hour if you book the tasting+explanation, 5 out of 5 well deserved stars

We enjoyed the stay at Cadenela a lot. Andrea was a great host to me and my family. It was very interesting to briefly dive into the world of olive oil and organic farming and we'll see this beautiful product with different eyes (and nose and mouth) in the future. Thank you!

In istria looking for good olive oil. Just searched and found Cadenala. We were welcomed by Andrea, the owner of the orchard. He patiently and extensively told us about his passion: good, healthy and honest olive oil! Why he grows organically, and what the difference is between 'ordinary' and good healthy olive oil. He lets us taste different types and how they are made. What a difference in taste. Especially with the ?good? oil from home. We bought several varieties because we they tasted great and we believe in his story about growing olives organically.
It was not a commercial story, he even gives adresses to buy cheaper but good 'non-organic' olive-oil'.
Thanks for the enthousiastic stories and information and recomondations to visit in Istria.

Amazing Experience that we totally recommend. The owners weren’t there but their sister, Ana, was so eccentric and helpful. We left very happy with several bottles of all three of their Olive Oils. We look forward to coming back for more and see the Family!

Lovely tour and tasting session in the most beautiful olive orchards setting. Andrea is highly knowledgeable and it's difficult not to become enthusiastic when your guide is so passionate about what he does! Highly recommended.

Andrea welcomed us - although we had not made an appointment - very warmly and introduced us to his organic olive oils. The quality of the oils is very high and it became clear very quickly that Andrea is very passionate about his work. Over a glass of wine he explained us the processes of olive harvesting and oil production. A visit is highly recommended! We will also use his offer and have his olive oils sent to our home. Many thanks for the hospitality and the excellent organic olive oils!

Very interesting tour where we learned alot about olive oil. Andrea was an extremely friendly, relaxed, knowledgeable and easy going man who took his time showing us around the orchard and could answer all our questions with big passion. Afterwards we had a lovely talk on the terrace, and he even gave us tips to other things on our holiday. We had our 2 children along (8 months and 3 years) and there was no problem in that. And of course very nice olive oil. A nice activity where you chat to a local, learn some new things about oil and have a lovely chat 😊 Thanks alot Andrea 👌👍

We visited Andrea during our Istria vacation and had a wonderful time. Andrea is very welcoming and fun to talk to about the EVOO and many other delicacies and Istria in general. 😉👍 His knowledge and insights on the oil are great and you can learn a lot. We had a very entertaining time with him sitting on the family house’s porch while trying the different types of oil. It goes without saying that the oils are terrific and a true taste gem. 🙂 We recommend anyone to visit Andrea to learn about the oil and buy plenty of that wonderful product.

We had a very nice introduction into the world of olive oil and its production. We tasted some very good oils while we were instructed on what to look for in good olive oils and the chemistry behind it. I can recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning something new. Andrea really knows what he is talking about and was a very kind host on his backyard terrace with a great view on his olive trees.
