It can be reached by car and a short walk, but also by boat. A truly unique and cool place. It is an interesting little piece of history: a monumental facility that was never used for its original purpose.

Very interesting place to visit during the boat trip to Vis. The water is absolutely clean & quite cool. The bay can be busy in the afternoon.

Vis is definitely an island full of Tito’s military secrets. We both hadn’t visited a sub pen before so didn’t know what to expect but found it easy to locate and gain access to.

Take the time to explore the tunnels and side rooms, I’m sure we would of missed loads but I’ll let my photos do the talking

The old Yugoslav submarine base on the island of Vis. The tunnel itself is about a hundred meters long. You can jump into the water from the entrance to the tunnel and there is an amazing view from the top of the hill. The entire island was a military base until the breakup of the former Yugoslavia and is definitely worth seeing.

Be sure to have a flashlight or a charged phone as there is no light inside to explore the compartments within. Amazing view from inside and worth the detour.

Unfortunately there isn’t much you can do here but I will still give it 5* you can walk inside it around the edge of the water and you can climb across the top of it. All the doors inside have been bricked up but there is one corridor you can walk down but this only leads outdoors. It’s brilliant for photos though.

This abandoned submarine and boat "garage" from WW2 looks epic and it's really worth the visit. It is 100 meter deep. You can access it on foot or with an SUV from the northern side following the path. There is no cellphone coverage on the inside, even tough there is a cellphone tower nearby.
It's a great location for a photoshoot 📸

Amazing place, full of history. Do not jump from the top(17meters) unless you are experienced because if you get any serious injures you have to be transported to Split with a helicopter.

Amazing place full of history, really important to see how was during the cold war was the fear of any kind of attack, Vis was the first defense line.

Interesting place to visit and swim on Vis, not so accessible, it takes a while by dirt road to get there so if you don’t have a car or motor bike to get there it would be a very long walk in hot weather. The actual space is a huge hangar like area, dug into the side of a hill going down into the sea, now covered in graffiti. You can walk inside and swim, or park your boat outside. A relic of work war 2 and Yugoslavian era politics.

If you are on island Vis this is a must see. Some will say nothing special but for me it was a really nice experience just by thinking this was used by submarines at some point in time. There are no tickets for this it’s an open experience. I suggest you park somewhere and have a nice walk around.

The jump was fine. 3 first time jumpers made it without issue because they were straight as a number 2 pencil. Tunnel is pretty cool too

Park the boat in the shadow of the tunnel and enjoy the jumps :) Don't jump from the top as the water is 6m high.

It is a very nice place to visit, especially to get in with a speaker to play music or just to sing, the sound is amazing. On the right side you have a small passage, a tunnel that will take you for 50 meters on the side exit, nice to explore but nothing interesting inside. In general, it is a historical place that you should visit when coming to Vis.

Vis has impressing military history and this is one of the most important memorials (left overs) to it.
