Life on Mars Trail

Beautiful trail! We were there in September - on some parts there was so much wind, we could barely walk, on others, there was no wind at all, making you feel all the hot sun. But the views are absolutely worth it and stunning! Our group was pretty inexperienced, so 8km loop took us around 3 hours. But it was absolutely amazing experience! Just rember to bring water, something to cover you from the sun and be cautious when the wind comes!

The trail is beautiful and well marked. If you follow the 12 km path, you have the opportunity to swim on beautiful beaches such as Pješčana plaža Pag, Široka Draga, Slana etc.
Also, the entire trail takes at least 4 hours (with breaks and breaks for bathing)

By the way, Life on Mars Trail officially belongs to a place called Metajna.

There are many options how you can go this trail, at least 4km/7km/15km. We went just with the shortest one due to very windy weather, but all in all the hike is very nice and accessible for everyone. Not that difficult terrain and nice walk around the sea. You can also visit several beaches just by the trail, one even with a bar.

Just the greatest trail I’ve done so far.
It’s about 15km if you do the whole loop. Totally worth it.
The view is unbelievable, like you actually left the planet.
Trails are easy to follow. Very windy but if the sun is out worth visiting one of the beaches and go in the water.
Not too many people so not too many trash around either.
Highly recommended.

Unlike we are on earth, hot and dry but such a cool place.

Went in Mai, it was windy but worth it - the landscape is breathtaking. The dog enjoyed it very much, it's not difficult at all.

An undemanding trail. If you want to walk straight away, turn right and you will be in the main place in 20 minutes.

Die Marswanderung war absolut sehenswert.
Der Weg ist gut gekennzeichnet mit roten Punkten .
Ganz wichtig genug Wasser mitnehmen .
Man läuft die ganze Zeit in der Sonne !
Wenn man den rundweg macht ist es dann auch wirklich anstrengend…
Unbedingt mit Wanderschuhen den Weg laufen denn man läuft über Geröll .

Achtung: nicht ungefährlich und als ungeübte Person niemals alleine gehen! Unser Startpunkt war laut Google „Pag Outdoor“. Dahin führen auch die Schilder in dem Ort. Wir sind zu zweit den Mars Trail gelaufen. Im April hatte es knapp 30 Grad und wir hatten 2L Wasser dabei und nach den Bewertungen dachten wir, ok es wird anstrengend aber keine große Sache. Der Trail ist wunderschön mit wirklich atemberaubenden Landschaften. Man hat das Gefühl wirklich auf einem anderem Planeten zu sein. Aber: Es gibt keinen Schatten. Absolut keinen. Bedeutet unbedingt Kopfbedeckung mitnehmen. Turnschuhe sind nicht empfehlenswert. Es braucht wirklich festes Schuhwerk und Trittsicherheit. Die Routen sind nicht vergleichbar mit Routen, die man bspw auf den Alpen kennt. Es ist an den meisten Stellen geröllig und man kommt schnell ins Schlittern. Und es kommen, zumindest im April, nicht viele Wanderer entgegen. Unsere Empfehlung: Genügend Wasser, Kopfbedeckung und gute Wanderschuhe. Dann kann man die Strecke auch genießen mit all seinen Facetten und tollen Landschaften. Die Marslandschaft selbst kommt in der unteren Hälfte. Wir haben für die mittlere Strecke 5:30 Stunden gebraucht.

Semplicemente una figata!!! Se siete appassionati di montagna e di mare insieme, questo non potete perdervelo. Trattasi di un sentiero che partendo da un ampio parcheggio dopo il centro di Metajna consente di raggiungere 5 belle spiagge ghiaiose in sequenza. Consiglio di arrivare fino alla Salna, merita. Non ho fatto il tratto più recente di via attrezzata sopra l'acqua. Per la spiaggia plaza salna considerate circa 40 minuti di cammino, poco dislivello. Consiglio caldamente scarpe da ginnastica. Con le ciabatte diventa impegnativo e si rischia di farsi male. E scarpette per il mare ovviamente!

Iznimo lijepo iskustvo u trajanju od 6h, potrebno je puno vode i budući da nema puno hlada, najbolje je ići u proljeće kada su manje vrućine ili ranu jesen kada nema kiša.
