Life on Mars Trail Metajna

The trail is beautiful and definitely an experience worth doing if you're on Pag. The landscape is barren, but somehow it's kinda magical.

The trail itself is Easy, but should be taken as Moderate (Hard if you go the full 20km), because of the strong winds, almost NO shade to hide if your hot, and if you go on the full trail it's a 4-7 hour adventure.

There are absolutely beautiful beaches to be found along the trail (probably the most beautiful you'll find on Pag) which are well worth the 2-4 hours you'll need to get to them.

Pack plenty of water as the trail is completely removed from humanity and the nearest anything is hours away. Also toilet paper, do NOT forget toilet paper.

Excellent hike... very beautiful.. you can spend a whole day out there.. don't miss out!

This is beautiful, yet a bit dangerous trail that i would not recommend to children and people who are not ready to walk a long distance over gravel and rocks. Most of the trail I couldn't run because rocks underneath are very shaky and surface is uneven, so I recommend wearing hiking boots instead of running shoes. The landscape you can expect is absolutely beautiful, surreal and interesting, one of the best I had in a lifetime, you will not forget this place.

Super nice trail with nice beaches, a bit challenging to reach the parking by car but we made it !

Good place for hiking, not difficult, but I would not recommend wearing flip flops. Views are amazing!!! You can also go swimming - there are beaches on the trail. We went there in the late afternoon so it wasn't too hot.

Nice trail for hiking and walking. The stunning landscape of stone and rock is dotted with the blue of the sky and sea. Unfortunately, the trail is also a document of the ugly part of our history that needs to be better marked and memorized. Namely, above Slana Bay are the remains of the Ustasha concentration camp in which a large number of Serbs, Jews, Croats and other civilians brought through Gospić, Velebit and Karlobag were tortured and killed.

Great trail to go. You can follow different paths and they are not very difficult. You will see many interesting places, bayes, gulfes and rocks. If you want you can jump into the water at many places 😉 and try the water. Be aware that there are not shelters to hide.

This is a must see if you are on Pag island!!!
Amazing sceneries.
Bring water, sunglasses and most importantly normal shoes not flipflops. Otherwise you risk injuries on hard sharp rocks. There are 4 loop trails you can choose from. Or just take a walk …and enjoy 😊

Nice mountain trail. First 3 km are really great, you can walk above some beaches. It is a big traverse under summits. Easy path, accesible by children as well.
After trail reaches one beach (after about 3 km) it becomes steeper. I would not recomend next 4-5 km for children. But it is ok for adults.

It is just amazing trail. Walking on the rocky and hot surface with the great views over the sea at the far end of the island. The trail is passing through the first concentration camp in Croatia from WW2, located in Slana beach. There is no any sign about it as the locals want to delete this part of history. Now this is just a remote beach far away from any single man and sign of civilization. This is my favorite trail on Pag island so far. There are many more to discover apart this one as well. Hit the trail Jack and bring enough water with you, it is going to be very hot.

Great experience but quite a demanding trail. Make sure you take A LOT of water.

Very cool experience. It's quite out of the way and difficult to get to as you must pass through a town with very narrow roads. Our car had to reverse several times and look for ways to let other cars through.

If you are using Google Maps you will be able to find the trail marker. It is by the beach. There is another path through the grass but I think the beach is easier to find.

Speaking of which, the beach is very uncrowded and beautiful. It is worth going to.

Great trails for hikers. Different lengths. Not suitable for small kids or people wearing slippers :)
