Diving Center Hippocampus

We did the SSI Open Water Diver course at this diving center. The center is very nice located directly in a beautiful bay in Stoja. Everything from the first request to the final exam was very well organized. We were beginners and never got in touch with diving, but the professional and familiar nature of our guide Alberto and the rest of the team never made us feel unsafe or uncomfortable in any way. The whole team was always very engaged to help us with our individual problems.
All in all it was a great great experience and a pleasure to dive with these guys. I can highly recommend this center and encourage everybody to try experiencing the underwater world - it is just amazing.

Great little diving centre, helpful personnel and not expensive! Plenty good divesites around so if it is your thing you could spend a lot of time here. Thoroughly enjoyed my first boat dive at Valovine II.

Very nice team and beautiful spots like the shipwreck VIS, Galebove stijene, Brijuni...) The diving center has parking spaces, showers, a facility with space to clean, leave and dry his belongings till the next dives.

I was with Hippocampus on one dive to tick off Baron Gautsch from my list. I asked them in email about the possibility of the dive on the given week, I got a positive answer and some questions (certs, date of my last dive) and confirmed the date, and transferred my deposit. They sent a reninder one day prior to the dive.
I have my basic equipment with me, I rented the rest from Hippocampus. The equipment was in good shape, worked flawlessly, the center is clean, nice place to store (their and your) equipment/stash, it has a secure place to let them dry too. They are about 40 meter from the pier but used trolleys to transport the gear there so it was pretty comfortable. :)

We got a full briefing and a nice and smooth dive.

This year was my third time diving with Hippocampus. My previous consistently positive experience was confirmed again. Also this year I met only professional and very friendly guides. The dive center itself is as always professionally managed. I needed except air no rental equipment, but all rental equipment looked current and very well maintained. I can unreservedly recommend this dive center and of course the insanely great dives. I will be very happy to come back!

If you're looking for a place to dive in Croatia don't look any further! This is a really good diving center with super friendly people. My boyfriend and I have done four dives with either Thomas, Alberto or Laura, and they all made us feel super safe and comfortable. There's a very chill vibe at the center and the instructors really connect with the divers. They're really accommodating to your needs and try to help you as much as you can with whatever you need. Dive sites are very interesting, especially the night dive is amazing (relatively shallow and good visibility, perfect for a first time!). The diving center is located on a big lively camp site, which can easily be reached by bus and offers the opportunity to stay close (we are backpacking with a small tent so it's a great addition). Also a nice owner and good rental equipment. If we visit the area again we'll definitely return to them!

Made very nice dives here and I did a training course open water diver.
The equipement is in good working order and wel maintained.
The instructor Jörg was professional and fun to learn from. Strickt but honest and a great teather.
The owners of Hippocampus are very compassionate and will do nearly eneything to make sure you can experience a fun and good training course or just have an awesome dive.
10/10 i would gladly dive here again.

We tried the Try Scuba Diving experience at the Hippocampus diving center. Everything was smooth from the start to the finish. All it took for booking was a simple Whatsapp message to Robi and he did the reservation and answered all my questions advance before the appointment and made us already feel extremely comfortable about the experience.

On the day of the diving, Laura was assigned to us as an instructor. To be honest, some of us were non-swimmers and extremely panicky about the experience. However, Laura was very patient with us and helped us enjoy it nevertheless. We spent a lot of time trying to get comfortable in our scuba diving gear in the surface, so we didn't have much time left for the actual diving part. But Laura and the other Hippocampus staff were quite accommodating and let us spend extra time so that we could have our first memorable diving experience. This was despite the fact that they were working past the usual closing time of the center. Everyone was so nice to us! I'm so happy with the memories that I will carry for the rest of my life. Special thanks to Laura for everything! She is the sweetest person and incredibly passionate about diving for all the right reasons. Definitely want to take up a longer scuba diving training course now and get more comfortable under water.

Me and my brother went diving here for the first time and it was the best experience ever! The instructor was really clear and taught us every detail we needed to know. She also helped us during the diving session and showed us all the wildlife. The price is totally worth it as well.

We felt like home! We dived with them for second year and they all have been very nice with us since the moment we arrived, Evelyn, Robi and Angy made us enjoy our time here, inside and outside the water! For sure we will come back :)

We booked the "try scuba diving" course with Alberto and it was awesome! He explained all the basic things in an easy way and supported us during the dive. We felt safe all the time under and above water. And it was fun as well.
We recommend this diving school because they take safety serious and offer many nice tours.

Good diving center and school. Did take the SSI advanced adventure course. Had some awesome and divers dives with professional dive instructors. If you plan to come during high season make sure to reserve your spot on the boat in time. The dives are very popular and spots fill quickly. The only thing that was not so great is that cards are not accepted so be prepared to bring cash.

Did a reactivate dive with Alberto and another dive with Laura. Both were really friendly and really good instructors. Had some problem with my equalization on my second dive and Laura gave me some good tips so I still could finish the dive. Really recommend this diving center :)

I booked a Open Water Diving course for 422€ (3000 Kunas), thanks to Evelyn who found me a slot just a few days before arriving in Pula.

And a special thanks for Alberto. He was the best diving coach, he taught us a lot during the course, always bringing positivity, always fun to learn, and definitely a pleasure to learn by his side. He's a great and a heartful human being, also nobody will deny that he is a professional. He shows us how it's possible to be graceful & to swim respectfully underwater. I will be forever grateful for the days we spent with my German's friends & our teacher learning how to dive

Great Diving school with nice employees. They offer German and English courses.
I had Laura and Niklas as my instructors and both of them were very friendly and ready to assist when in need of help and chatty.
The theory of diving was a ~30 lesson with easy to understand subjects such as the handsigns underwater and the equipment we were going to use. The whole experience isn't expensive either so summed up this place deserves 5 stars.

Such a great experience! I spent such a great time with this diving center, great diving locations with amazing seaworld! Stuff is friendly and full of knowledge, best regards to everyone. Superb Covid-19 standards, I feel safe in every moment. I highly reccomand this center and looking forward to next diving adventure.

We took the course « try scuba dive » for two hours and we really recommand it. Alberto was our instructor, he was really nice and made us confident. His instructions were very clear in a good english. In the water he was here to help, patient and he showed us animals and fishes. Also the equipment was very good and all the center was perfectly organized with a professional team.

I did the try scuba dive for two hours. Berto was our instructor and he did very well. His English was easy to understand and he answered every question. I felt very comfortable all the time. His calm personality and character helps a lot in the discovery course. He gave us the time we needed to get used to the equipment. All in all it was a great session, I can recommend this diving centre. The booking was easy via Whatsapp / email.

The dive center is located on camping grounds. You must enter through the camp site and drive to the back to reach the dive shop. The staff were all super friendly. The dive shop is a really nice setup! Bathrooms if you need to use to change as well as a nice room for storing dry gear. The equipment cage and cleaning area is awesome! With showers to rinse off as well! I’m my opinion the diving is some of the best in this area of Europe. Don’t expect to compare it to the Bahamas or Fiji. We did a night dive on the local reef which wasn’t bad. The next day we dove a wreck and another reef from the boat. The wreck was awesome with some cool sea life. Definitely a bit colder at depth. I would absolutely recommend this shop if you are looking to dive in the Pula/Medulin area.
