All thumbs up for this amazing place. It is the oldest tavern of Zagreb dated from 1830! And its location is on a beautiful alley, and in a district of Zagreb, where we absolutely fell in love with. Moreover, we found a totally empty bar while we were expecting a fully packed place. Therefore, I believe it is not highly advertised, which is another big plus.

Perfect place in the centre, just above all the noise and the crowd, like a secret harbour with great croatian liqueurs made out of the mountain herbs

I was first there on Friday 4 March 2022. The place was buzzing, in a nice way, not messy, but the smoking ban is just for lolz in Croatia. Pizza deliveries peppered the night. The drinks there are inexpensive but I like to prepare for "events, dear boy" abroad, and so happily proved able to read a message in biro taped to the door of the gents. The Best Pilsner Urquell in Croatia. Tapped the right way, served the rigt way in a right Temperature. Beer lovers have to visit.

Best place to feel old Zagreb atmosphere!

Pod starim krovovima was opened in 1830 and is still working! It is actually the oldest Zagreb's cafe. It is very close to Mark' Square. The place will welcome you with warm atmosphere. It's well known for movie which was filmed there. Movie Tko pjeva zlo ne misli is the most watched Croatian movie. Relax mind and feet enjoying a cold Czech beer and "gemišt" (white wine and mineral water)

Okay, let's admit it. Waiters are sometimes too slow but they are very friendly.

Best of the Best place if YouTube want understand the soul of Zagreb

Simple, laid-back pub for drinks, no food though. Google maps currently lists it as a restaurant, and a friend said he ate there by last year, but they do not currently serve food.
