Cayos Cochinos

This place is paradise. I have visited many cities and towns in different countries..I thought Hawaii was the most beautiful but I was wrong. Cayos Cochinos is raw beauty. From the coral reef to the islands to the people. I already made plans to move near by.

While staying on Roatan, my family and I decided to make a day trip out to Cayos Cochinos. To get there from Roatan is about a 45 minute ride via speed boat. Whenever we arrived at Cayos Cochinos we made a stop at one of the islands and went into the visitor center. While there, we watched a video and were given a rundown about the history of the islands. After this, we took a short boat ride over to one of the smaller coral cays where we were allowed to get out of the boat and go snorkeling. The water was super clear and the snorkeling was nice. Afterwards, we visited a small community that is located on one of the islands, and we took a tour of the village before sitting down to a meal consisting of yellow sea bass, rice and beans, and fried plantains. After visiting this islands we were taken to another snorkeling spot close to one of the larger islands. While snorkeling there, I saw several different species of fish and a couple of stingrays. Overall, I highly recommend going on a day trip to Cayos Cochinos.

My favorite spot on the Honduran Carribean. Lovely beach, closeby reefs for snorkeling, and sweet walk to visit pink boas. Will come back for sure. Disfruta Honduras

I live in Honduras and I love how you can snorkel and see corals and fishes through the clear water and the guides were pretty funny at least in Spanish definitely recommend

Our group visited Cayos Cochinos with Bay Island Adventures. It was a great day, what a beautiful area, small islands, calm quiet snorkeling and a nice lunch served by the locals. Thank you to Brian, Libby, Ricky and Capitain Nouam for a wonderful day. It was a pleasure to have you all as our crew and guides.

This would be paradise if it wasn’t for the people - locals mostly - littering everywhere. It’s a shame really as the beauty of the keys is unmatched.
