We stoped for a meal at the restaurant. The location is beautiful just by the edge of the lake with a huge sacred Ceiba tree planted just in front of the restaurant. The food was delicious (good quality shrimp, a very well balanced margarita), the service was quick and you can pay by card. The prices were really good (we paid slightly over 50 eur for the dinner of 4 people with drinks). But what I enjoyed most was the view to the lake and the sunset which made our dinner absolutely magical. We also saw some fruit bats which were flying around and just as the sun was setting. I would definitely come back.

This place was recommended to me by a friend and it was a real good tip. I went there for lunch dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately I found out this place after I've booked my room in another hotel but it would have been my first choice if I would have found it out earlier. It is really cool and they have an amazing garden with a sacred Mayan tree, the Ceiba. Go check it out. Their food is delicious.

Went here for food. The staff was chill and let us lounge even though we were not guests. The Mayan garden is without a doubt the lifelong commitment of nature devotion and draws reverence. A special spot in El Remate if you want to center yourself

I didn't stay here, but booked the shuttle to Belize with them for Q125. It was arriving late, and because they didn't notify me that I could sleep in, they gave me free breakfast which was good! They have a big Ceiba tree in the yard and a cute little cable car to transport food to the deck near the water. They also send food for colorful birds in the nearby trees! And squirrels eat the fruit too. I met the owner who said he's in his 80s from Florida and the hotel is his life's work. I think that's a nice life's work! Just seeing the courtyard and meeting some staff, and tasting the food, it was really good.

My family and I stayed here for a whole week. The staff is friendly and the air conditioning was great. It has so much space for our kids to roam (boys ages 7 and 4) the dog resident was the sweetest puppy! We fell in love with him. We didn’t really eat there but they have a restaurant and a zip line for drinks from the restaurant to a gazebo across the property. We did order drinks and they were good and the kids loved the zip line delivery haha. They have parking inside which was nice since we rented a car as well.

I just happened upon this place and it’s an incredible location with a mayan garden and a view of the lake. I had ordered the fish dinner which was only 60 at the restaurant and they have a trolley system that they delivered it with a nice Mojito except they have cilantro in it lol and the dinner was fabulous with the large amount of guacamole.

We stayed here many years ago, and I should have written a review back then. We had stayed for over a week, most people stay one or two nights on their way to Tikal. We met Don David himself and he and his staff were wonderful. He even took us on a night tarantula hunt (scared my friend, but I enjoyed it). No frills, but clean and reasonable rates. Restaurant had great food, but limited menu. Staff were great for finding us local guides to go bird watching, to Tikal or other sites and we had an awesome time. One of my favorite vacations.

Superb venue with an absolutely Awesome sunset view from both the restaurant and the garden terrace which has the most spectacular system for transporting drinks from the bar that I've ever seen!
A must visit venue for food or a stay with warm and welcoming staff.
Dinner was also exceptional.
Recommended!

This place was wonderful! The workers were very nice and hospitable. The rooms themselves were roomy and the courtyard was really cool. You get a view of the lake from it. There was a zipline service where you could order drinks. The restaurant was well stocked and had many options to choose from. I highly recommend this place for an authentic guatemalan experience.

I stayed here as part of a group doing the Mayan trail. The accommodation is comfortable and lovely grounds extending down to the lake. They have a creative zip line to shoot you drinks down to the lakeside terrace. We had the priviledge of watching a ritual of the ring of fire around Guatemala's national tree and the sacred tree of the Maya. This "Tree of Life" represents the underworld (roots), earth and the heavens (branches above).

Stayed here with my daughter. On our way there she got sick. The staff were so helpfull; I could have dinner in my room where she was asleep, they suggested some light medicine that worked wonders and helped her with special food. Apart from this the location is wonderful, the view spectaculair, spacious rooms with a porch, easy and fast transport to Tikal (far better option then Flores) and you can swim in the lake from the jetty next to the hotel. Must do when in the area!

Amazing spot for delicious meals. We loved the zipline that serves your drink on the gazebo at the end of the yard, by the lake.

Exceptionally good hotel and super duper service. Very good food and excellent value for money. They organize trips to Tikal NP. Absolutely not necessay to stay in the expensive crappy hotels in Tikal Park.
