Posada de Santiago

Ordered the Thai coconut shrimp and my friends ordered a variety of the dishes here. Great view of the lake paired with excelled food. The chips and guacamole were delicious as well. Main course was savory, tangy and filled with love and care. The ambiance was great- would eat here again.

Restaurant 10/10: my partner ate here twice! and was absolutely delicious, hamburger and BTL sandwich were great. Also had macadamia brownie for dessert, exquisite!

Stopped here for breakfast and wow! Everything was super tasty!! Literally one of the best biscuits I have ever had and they have homemade ginger beer!!! Blue corn pancakes…delicious! I want to keep coming back to this place to try everything on their menu! They also roast their own coffee here.

It was many years ago that we stayed. But absolutely magical.

We happened upon this place unexpectedly and are so glad we did! The ambiance is beautiful (the dining hall is lovely, but you can also ask to sit by the lake- they have a fire going at night so don’t worry about getting cold). Food is fresh, seasonal and delicious. They even make their own artisanal bread. The service was so friendly and accommodating. We’ll be back this week with our friends!

Excellent restaurant. The piscina, sauna and hot tub were very nice. Kayaks on the beach for a fun paddle. Location can’t be beat.

Super wonderful place! Private cabins. Excellent food and service! You can relax by the pool take out a kayak and hit the sauna! All whilst being waited on with food and drink by the wonderful staff.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable lunch. The food was great and the portions we're large. While I did not particularly like the ginger beer (others may find it delightful), the coffee was truly excellent.

The pasta primavera was not the best, the shrimp tacos were dry and not great flavor the chips and guacamole were really good!

Stayed here for a couple nights.
The place has a private pool, jacuzzi and a yoga hut. Honestly, the food here is AMAZING!

I had 2 breakfasts here. You must try jugo de piña and the pancakes!!! Super amazing.

This is no longer a hotel, but a collection of individually owned homes. We booked Casa Maya on AirBNB. It's a lovely little cottage with a nice front yard, seating, BBQ and hammock. The restaurant on site was good. There is a temezcal (sauna), pool, small jacuzzi, kayaks and bar across the street from the homes that are part of the Posada as well. The view of the lake is beautiful and very quiet. Staff are friendly and very helpful. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the Parque Central/Cathedral or a quick tuk tuk ride. The only downside is there really are no other restaurants or stores nearby.

Great food cooked after you order- worth the wait. Pure water plumbed into the rooms. Great staff that speaks English. Rooms clean, spacious, not fancy. I have been to Lake Atitlan the past four years and this is my favorite.

Long time gringo owner with a social conscience. All Mayan staff, many of whom speak passable English for those of you who don't. Very clean cabins and rooms in a beautiful garden setting. The restaurant has top quality organic food. Overall, this is the best place we have stayed in Guatemala.

Wonderful! Beautiful room, clean and welcoming. Great restaurant. Coffee roasted on site. Amazing views. Kayaks and canoes available to take out on the lake free of charge. Friendly owner and staff. Really a step up from budget places in other towns around the lake.

Have you ever dreamed of vanishing the city life? Taking yourself to a place where you can really rest your soul? Posada de Santiago is your place. I was a bit hesitant on the fact that we could encounter strange crawling insects suxh as scorpions but the wholesomeness and peacefulness wipes all fears away. Not to mention, the pièce of resistance, is the magestic view that you will have of the volcano, right in front of you while you are swiming in the pool or just resting in the jacuzzi. Make sure to use that jacuzzi at night under the stars, it hits differently.

Awesome spot to explore the region. The owner can provide safe guides and travel tips. He also knows every soul around here. The restaurant is exquisite - as well as the rum selection. A pool and lodge at the water offer a marvelous place to watch the days go by. I will be back!

This Place!!!! The most magical on Atitlan with a blazing sauna, hot tub overlooking the lake, a pool lakeside, canoes & kayaks to use freely, & the best food found in Santiago (that also supports a women's cooperativa.) Go.

Love this place. Cute clean cottages with fireplaces. Comfortable beds, beautiful pool, spectacular views. Staff was warm and welcoming. Food is wonderful. Everything about Posada de Santiago is first class. Highly recommend!

Loooooved Posada! Absolutely excellent hotel and restaurant. The staff from the driver Donald to wait staff including Nino and Petronila (sp?) are excellent! Posada is making a difference to the people of Santiago and you can tell the employees love their work! There are a ton of amenities, it's decorated beautifully, gorgeous grounds including lake access with restaurant, sauna, pool, dock. The filtered drinking water tap in the room was amazing and wasn't found anywhere else. No WIFI in the upper room we stayed in and was glad we wasn't, we weren't there to be on our phones and the WIFI in the lobby/restaurant is excellent. We stayed in multiple cities including at a Radisson in Guatemala city and by FAR this was the best hotel we stayed in in 2 weeks. I can't recommend enough!
