Moreria Santo Tomas Fabrica De Mascaras

I have visited Moreria Santo Tomas on several occasions, each one resulting in a delightful experience. My groups and I have been entertained by the sounds of the marimba, intrigued by the history of mask-making, and impressed by the cultural pride exemplified by the Ignacio family. I always leave feeling fulfilled and thankful that I visited.

Kudos to everyone that makes Moreria Santo Tomas a wonderful place to visit. We were thrilled to be given the opportunity to paint our own masks, try on a ceremonial costume, and to purchase custom paintings highlighting the culture of Chichicastenango. Miguel Ignacio drew a design for us: "My Heart is in Guatemala". My husband even had the opportunity to play drums to accompany the marimba players one time. How fun!

As you can tell from my review, they go above and beyond to welcome you as a guest! Their talents as artisans and pride in their culture is evident. A visit to Chichicastenango requires a visit to Moreria Santo Tomas.

There is so much to see and do. The location is easy to find and is beautifully painted on the outside. With free admission, it is definitely in everyone's budget and well worth the time. Please visit, and tell them that Jennifer Demar says hello!

Moreria Santo Tomás es un lugar increíble a visitar con familia y amigos. Se vive una experiencia única al conocer la elaboración de los trajes de bailes guatemaltecos e incluso poder vestirse con uno de los trajes.
La atención que brinda la familia Ignacio es excelente.
Se encuentra muy cerca del centro y sin duda lo recomiendo.

La atención es buena! Aparte de todo es una experiencia espectacular' uno disfruta de la música autóctona, comida, conocer sobre las máscaras tradicionales y de decoración y sobre todo podemos ponernos los trajes del baile de torito, de la conquista y del baile de los vendados!!,
