Viñas Hotel, Lanquin

Amazing experience with an incredible group of people whom I'll never forget. Thank you for the time, energy, and effort to ensure my safe experience in Guatemala.

Lovely place with a relaxed atmosphere. They cooked an amazing crepe with nutella and banana for me and my mate which it wasn't even on the menu. There's a swimming pool and a restaurant. It's a vibrant place to stay and have fun or relax.

Great hotel! Highlight is Rosalia who makes her own chocolate and sells it! Incredible flavour with no sugar, just fruit and cacao! Will dream of this chocolate, wish we could ship a lifetime supply home!

This place is absolutely fantastic. I stayed in a room with a private bathroom and air conditioning, and it was great. It's about a 3 minute walk into town if you need supplies, and it's on the correct side to get you to and from semuc quickly. Unless it's absolutely pouring, they have consistent power, and Wi-Fi is available in the restaurant. Also enjoyed using the pool, and utilize their Travel Service to schedule buses to and from the town.

Excelent staff. Nice restaurant and bar. The pool is nice as well. They arrange everything that you need (tour guide, shuttle, tuktuks…). The room has a good size and view for the nature. I really recommend this peaceful place. ✨✨

Viñas hotel was the perfect place to stay for our adventure to Semuc Champey. The restaurant has delicious food (and lots of vegetarian options), the pool is wonderful and the staff clean it daily, everyone is super friendly and the manager, Rudy, was extremely helpful. Rudy helped us find the best options for the various tours we wanted to go on, and helped arrange transportation to Flores for our departure. I would highly recommend a stay here when you are in Lanquin!

Nice simple hotel. The pool is nice with for the heat, although there were a lot of people on Saturday evening. Dogs and cats will keep you company if you want.
I recommend the restaurant with amazing vegan bolognesa pasta!

Bedt place to stay on your visit to Semuc Champay. The staff is the best and food is great! Best option is to stay here and catch a ride up to semuc champay in a locals 4x4. Short trip but 4x4 Is definitely needed. The route after the hotel is rough. Hotel has spacious and secure parking lot.

Great place to stay for your adventures around Lanquin. If you’re into discovering locals way of life definitely choose this one as other hotels (like Aruma, Pachamama, Las Maria’s, etc.) are located away from the village center.
The restaurant has good food for reasonable prices - veggie as well - but not great variety. If you’re tired of having bolognese spaghetti, head to town! There are a couple comedors and restaurants that are worth a try.
COLD SHOWERS approx. 2 times out of 3… but hey, you’re in the jungle.

**CACAO TOUR**
We went on a cacao tour at a lady’s house whose name is something like Rosalyn or Rosalya. We got to have and prepare lunch with her in her very humble casa.
In the afternoon, she showed us how to make chocolate from the cacao she harvested and roasted beforehand.
Don’t expect a museum-like experience nor learn more about cacao itself. See it as an immersion into the local Mayan culture, discovering how the people there actually make chocolate out of their garden basically. Also, it’s a great way to give back to the local community who doesn’t always benefit from tourism.
Rosalyn hangs out at Viñas almost every night trying to sell her delicious chocolate and to find gringos to do her tour, so you won’t miss her.
Don’t be shy, give it a try!
P.S: if you’re on a budget like us you can try to bargain a little 😊

This is an amazing place if you want to stay at Lanquin for a few nights, I totally recommend it! The rooms are clean and capacious. The staff there is super friendly and they will look out for you during your stay. The food is tasty and affordable, I recommend to try the local Kaq' ik. It is not so hard to get there by car.

We stayed in a 4 bed dorm. The beds were comfy. The rooms smelled stuffy but that was ok.
They have an onsite restaurant with good food and good prices.
There is a swimming pool and a bar.
The staff is friendly and they can arrange suttles.
The WiFi works fine only at the restaurant.
I would say it is good for the price, and you can walk to Semuc from here (3 hours hike).

Really great stay - the staff were super helpful after an issue with a third party tour company. Tasty and reasonable restaurant and bar - good mountain views and very close to use as a base to explore Semuc Champey. Great stay - would recommend!
