The owner, Meri, is exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. He has huge stocks of all genres. He transferred several vinyl records of mine onto CD and did so with great care and attention to detail and for a very reasonable price.

My go-to place for all things music on all formats. An excellent selection spanning everything from UKG and oldschool electronica to post-punk and reggae.

I’ve not only found what I was looking for, ranging from early ‘00s garage CDs to cassette head cleaners (don’t judge, my car’s 30 years old), and I’ve also come out on multiple occasions with an expanded music taste and knowledge I didn’t enter in with.

Chunes’s music collection is substantial to say the least, with both my ‘80s loving girlfriend and my stuck-in-2001 self able to pick out plenty of music to our liking on each visit.

Meri’s a legend, bringing musical knowledge ranging from being able to find bangers in every genre to outright general wisdom.

Brilliant, brilliant music shop. As someone who peruses music shops on their travels often, I’m yet to find one like Chunes.

First time I've been into Chunes in 30yrs, as I've just not had a turntable since 1990. Now I have one, I can see myself becoming a regular visitor. It's a fantastic treasure trove, like a vinyl version of TK Maxx or the central aisles of Aldi & Lidl. I ended up with 9 LPs for £9, including stuff I had no intention of buying. So that was all 9.. I've filled several gaps in my collection of Beethoven symphonies, and will probably do the same for Bach, Brückner, Brahms, Berlioz. (Other letters of the alphabet are also available.) Also found a Shirley Bassey album after seeing a documentary about her on iPlayer the other day. All I really wanted was a Shpongle album...
Had a great chat with Meri. He's a real enthusiast, and incredibly knowledgeable. I now know how to spot a first pressing of Dark Side of the Moon, why I need to raid my piggy bank to buy Tales of the Inexpressible, what the vinyl market is like in general, why you can't move for Jim Reeves albums in charity shops, how best to clean a dirty album, and that we both like Rega but disagree with Roy Gandy on not cleaning vinyl before playing it.
I washed my copy of Exile on Main St when I got home, and the improvement was startling.
If you've never been, go. You won't regret it.

A great second hand record store which is a treasure trove of finds. Meri is very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable & he won't rip you off, been in a few times & will always call in when in area. We'll worth a visit you never know what you'll come out with, thanks Meri

The best record shop I ever have been too, Meri is a sound guy and his record selection is amazing, only get to pop in maby every now and then but have never left dissappinted, a true local hotspot and will always keep me coming back for more, great vape selection aswell!

Owner's a really nice bloke. Everything is either cheap as chips or just fairly priced. According it friend tanks and juice are good. Generally a nice calm environment.
