Friendly staff & great selection of produce, despite the recent downsizing. Variety is great & caters to the slightly alternative student/young family democratic well eg rye sourdough, lentils, sprouted beans, good home baking section. Not always the cheapest, but very convenient.

Love this place: spacious, calm, pleasantly chilled feel. Fine selection of nuts and baked goods. Once went in and they were playing The Clash and Bob Dylan.

Went in today and the staff could not have been more helpful. They were so kind and went out of the way to help me get a home delivery. Always a smile and a cheerful conversation. They could not do enough. Please look after the staff there, they are worth their weight in gold, all I can say is thank you all.

The biggest co op ever with everything u need all in one place. Shame there are plans to make it smaller I wish they change mind and keep it as it is cause its been my local supermarket of choice for years.
Staff are always helpful and nice too.

It's amazing, really good range of stock, absolutely lovely staff, incredible opening hours, super quirky old school co op, I've just moved local to here and I love it, definitely a best kept secret. It's very scruffy and they only occupy 2/3 of the premises. It's not properly fitted out but clean and there's plenty of space for cat spinning or ballroom dancing. It's due for a refit and that will be the end of everything that is wonderful right now but in the meantime, come along, enjoy the experience, maybe pick up a second hand book that they have on sale raising money for local charities. Enjoy, before the shop fitters come along and ruin it with their cc interiors, come check out the huge range of ice cream, fudge and promptly marked-down goods before the computerised systems ruin it all and leave the shop with a poorly chosen and homogenised selection of branded goods. Before bargain obtains the same status as many four letter words. Until that day I love, love, love the Scala, it's the best shop in Bath and long may it remain overlooked by head office, it's just what the Co Op means to me.

A good sized shop with everything you could want, the student discount gives it an edge over Sainsbury's. Good selection of food for people with intolerances as well unlike Lidl.

I love the co op (Scala ) it has a strong community feel and the staff remember you and make you feel welcome ..It has a delivery service which to my mind is very under used and plenty of parking, but as a staff member I can honestly say I wouldn't want to work anywhere else.

They are the only store I know of which still stocks uncle Ben's vegetable pilau rice so it's a thumbs up from me! Shame that the peacocks inside closed, hope something will fill the space. Chocolate rich tea biscuits?! Whatever next

Easy to park and great range of produce. Certain times of the day can be very busy especially during term time because of the large student population in the area.

Do you like David Lynch movies?
If so, you will not be disappointed with the surreal shopping experience in the Scala Co-Op at Oldfield park. Apparently it's an old cinema building (the Scala), certainly the L-shaped shop floor has a lot of character, and makes for an exciting game of hide and seek as you try to find various products. The staff are very helpful, but mainly bustling around on a non-stop sisyphean task to restack the shelves. I think there may be some conspiracy to keep the stores 'local' character by making sure the many entrances are entirely non-identifiable as a supermarket, and to keep it from appearing on any online map that kids today would be using.
This is a pity, as for a medium-sized supermarket it has an enormous range of stock (even white goods, should you ever want to buy a dishwasher while getting the spuds in), and is cheaper than the Sainsbury's local on Moorland road.
There's also an Amazon locker at one of the many entrances - the question is, will you ever find it?

Love the Scala, quality product, friendly and helpful staff, generally a good vibe. Very different to the run of the mill supermarket.

The one-way roads nearby can make it a faff to enter by car depending on the direction you're coming from, but there is parking. Great location if you live in Oldfield Park.
