The Grumpy Chef

By far the best meal that we had in Seaford.

We ate there on a Saturday night and the food was so good that we ended up having 3 courses each (having planned to have just 1) and enjoyed fantastic service.

The restaurant is busy during the day but was not busy when we went for dinner on a Saturday evening in January because everyone is going to the Italian but the food here at The Grumpy Chef is much better.

Second visit, first three years ago. Had a delicious lunch with a friend yesterday on our day trip to see the Seven Sisters. Certainly not 'grumpy', the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely place to stop off for a bite to eat and explore the town. Thank you

If the Grumpy Chef prepared such incredible food, I can only imagine the culinary delights the Happy Chef would create. To be honest, the food was simply amazing. We ordered a burger and a chicken breast, and both dishes were exceptional. The staff were also exceptionally friendly, and the ambience added to the overall enjoyment of our dining experience.

We have visited on long weekend holidays. Place was quite busy. The breakfast we had was light in portion but delicious.

So good that we went their for a special birthday dinner and had to come back the next day for breakfast. You need to try their cocktails. So delicious and 2 for £12 in the evenings.

Love the food. I particularly loved the smashed avocado, lime, coriander and chilli on toast. Thanks for making space for us even though you were full.

A great cafe, good seating and space for buggies. Lovely food and a reasonable price. Always had good service. Toilet has a changing area for babies too.

Absolutely perfect! I would say one of the best culinary experiences we had by far. From the top mark customer service and hospitality skills to fresh, tasty and homemade food. The food which is absolutely delicious. We have visited The Grumpy Chef two times once during breakfast and once during lunch time. This place is always vibrant and full of life with many costumers but the staff have managed to accommodate us. If you have to wait a few moments for a table don’t hesitate- it’s definitely worth it. We will definitely come back especially to try their dinner menu as it’s open on Fridays and Saturday until 11 pm.

I ordered off the menu (as I don’t eat bread). I was worried it would be very average but in fact it was wonderful. So hard to come by when you’re a veggie! My partner’s food was great too.

I had a delicious brunch here. I ordered the pancakes with streaky bacon, with 2 extra pieces of bacon, 2 sausages, and 2 eggs. I also had a small latte to drink. It was all very tasty and it was perfect for brunch. The only slight complaint I would have is that the service was fairly slow, but we weren't in a rush at all so this was no issue.

We had a delicious lunch here - my Greedy Sandwich was perfect and she enjoyed her open faced mushroom and hummus sandwich, too.

A wonderful eating establishment. On the menu is a variety of excellent Sea food, sandwiches, burgers and vegetarian dishes.

Excellent service, great atmosphere and I highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazing food and very kind and friendly staff, would1000% recommend this place for any meal of the day, I would also saythe best hot chocolate in. Seaford in my personal opinion

An absolutely brilliant little restaurant with very friendly service, modern and creative decor and - most importantly - delicious food at a reasonable price (not cheap, but certainly not too expensive). The crab linguine was excellent, as was the salmon linguine, and the veg was perfectly cooked. They've also got some cakes which I can highly recommend.

The food is consistently really good in the Grumpy chef. I've had cooked breakfasts and fancy pasta dishes and all are really flavoursome. Their cocktails are freshly prepared too! They've also renovated the restaurant to put in a little bar. It's looking great - can't wait until we're allowed to sit up there once C19 has passed.

Really nice avocado and toast, we asked the waiter and it was made vegan for us which was fab!

Warning: A lot of people got turned away as it was quite busy and some tables had been reserved.

Really delicious food, big portions. The staff were very helpful and nice. I really liked interior. It was very cosy. Highly recommend!

Had greedy sandwich. Was nice no complaints. Like it.
