First time visiting The Cornerstone and it didn't disappoint us. The food, service and atmosphere were first class. I don't usually have a desert but made an exception as they were all hand made, so glad I tried one, it was delicious ... Will definitely return to Mallaig, just for another visit

We took the Jacobite steam train to Mallaig and went to The Cornerstone for an unforgettable lunch. The staff was kind and welcoming. The service was fast with suggestions to get us back to the train in time. The mussels were delicious, fish and chips so light and tasty, and the beer was great. Excellent views of the bay with the Isle of Skye as a backdrop. Loved our visit.

Four of us stayed here occupying both rooms in the B&B. Comfortable, with a great view. Our host Sharon was charming and helpful. We also ate at the restaurant and we had the best meal that we had during our Scottish trip.

Very close to the train station and the ferry terminal . Having said that, Mallaig is pretty small and everything seems to happen in the middle of town.

Well worth visiting.

Great restaurant with BnB above. The rooms share a common lounge and kitchen in case you want to cook for yourselves.

The host was very welcoming even though our stay was short we felt great comfort & Breakfast was awesome. Ferry and railway station are quite nearby, parking was available in a walkable distance.

We had a fantastic meal last Saturday evening at this friendly and welcoming restaurant. The dining room was pleasant and airy, with a relaxed atmosphere and a great view. The service was faultless and the food superb. I had monkfish from the specials board, which was imaginatively prepared, and cooked to perfection. My partner had a very tasty chicken option. A great find which we would love to visit again.

It took us some time before being served, but it's worth it.
I ordered some fish and chips and oh my god it was a masterpiece!!
We wanted to eat fast and we searched around till we found Cornerstone and decided to try it.
They were so nice when we were leaving, I even said I'd leave a 5 star review.

What an amazing place! The service was fast and polite. The food was spectacular. The view from the restaurant was gorgeous. Totally recommend. Delicious fish and chips. If riding in the steam train, make sure to arrive early so you don't have to wait for a table!

Friendly staff and easy location. They had a reduced menu but it was absolutely no worry.

The Cullen Skink soup was one of the best soups I’ve had, and the fish and chips were great.

Definitely the place to come if you’re here briefly.

Food was delicious and service was so friendly and welcoming. Really kind waitress and my wee boy had a ghostbuster toy and she made him a special ghostbuster juice! Just the little things. Lovely!

Absolutely fantastic place. Beautiful food, excellent service, brilliant value. My goats cheese starter was the prettiest thing I have ever eaten. The chocolate pudding off the specials list was superb. Outstanding view of the harbour. Do not miss this place if you are in Mallaig!

We were looking for a nice local restaurant, not too high end, but with nice food and a good atmosphere and we found all that af the cornerstone. We had the scallops, mussels and monkfish as main course and the chocolate taste and panna cotta as desert. The food was delicious and the service was perfect. I would really recommend this place if you’re looking for good food (mainly fish) and cosy restaurant with amazing service a great atmosphere.

The restaurant is family run and provides a beautiful view over the harbor on the other side of the street. The restaurant is rather small, so if you arrive via the Jacobite be quick otherwise the tables are taken.

The food is amazing and up until now the best I have ever eaten. The fish and chips were stunning, the other food eaten by my tabel was also one of the best they have ever eaten.

Amazing food. Best fish I have ever eaten and dessert! Glorious place. I would go every week if possible but live in East Anglia so not. ☹ BB at same venue also fabulous. Lovely views over harbour and warmest welcome possible from Sharon. Cannot wait to go back and stay for a longer period. I am coeliac and needed gluten free - no problem there. They made sure breakfast was wonderful. Hope to go back soon.

A return visit for us after we were blown away by the quality of the food the first time we visited, the young chef showcases the local food to such a high standard it shouldn’t be missed, the friendliness and attention given by the whole team made us feel so comfortable, the room we stayed in was very clean and so comfortable with a fantastic nights sleep, we will definitely visit when we return to the area, beautiful view over the harbour with lots to see in the area.
