Route 7 Cafe

Route 7 is a little hidden gem in Aviemore, why doesn't everyone know about it! I had followed them on Instagram for a while and noticed the amazing daily food updates, so had to get some of the action. We were up in the area for a few days so made sure to have breakfast here at least once. It's located in the Highland Home Centre hidden at the bottom of an industrial estate but it really needs to invest in being in the town centre, it is simply amazing!

The food is second to none, all cooked fresh with local ingredients and with a wide variety of breakfast, brunch & lunch items, it's hard to pick what to have. Route 7 is the best place for a bite to eat if you're in Aviemore, pricing isn't too bad and is well worth the slight detour, you won't regret it!

Very charming place with good food and nice beer... Service is friendly and fast.

We stopped in for breakfast. It was moderately busy, we were seated right away. The food was great, they have a good selection for breakfast and lots of vegetarian options. It’s tucked off the main road in an industrial section. Might be a little hard to find compared to other options in Aviemore but I highly recommend you try and get here.

Went for breakfast after parkrun and it was great. Food was tasty, made fresh and decent pricing. So good we went back again!

A hidden gem in Aviemore.
My wife and I were in Aviemore for the day and was looking for somewhere for lunch. Andrea in Blacks Outdoor Clothing suggested we try Route 7. After a wee bit of searching we found it - situated above the Highland Home Centre (go in the front door and up the stairs inside).
The menu had a good variety of items on it and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and and the café had a lovely atmosphere - including the wood burner being on. We would highly recommend visiting Route 7 and we will definitely be back.

My wife and I vsited twice during our recent stay in Aviemore. Brilliant food, I can recommend the French Toast and the breakfast burrito. Staff are friendly and provide excellent service.
Good coffee as well.

Their vegan breakfast roll and pancakes are amazing! Great way to fuel for a hike. The atmosphere and staff are also lovely.

Lovely place, Staff very nice and pleasant, Had full Scottish Breakfast and it has to be one of the best I've had. Would definitely recommend it and will call again when I'm back in the area.

Amazing food! Great people and an all round lovely place, very clean, minimalistic and nice and cosy with the log burners. Reccomend 100% if you’re in the area :)

Delicious breakfast, great coffee. Really nice inside.
Edit: Came back for breakfast the next day. Was very good except the fried egg which was undercooked (runny white not just yolk).
Otherwise very nice and great flat white coffee again.

Lovely spot! Great shop downstairs definitely worth a browse. Breakfast at the cafe was great! Staff super friendly. Waitress very recommended a local walk which we decided to go that was beautiful!

My Husband and I stopped in here on the way to Carrbridge and it was the best decision we made the staff where so friendly the place was decorated nice and the food was absolutely amazing plenty of choice and not to expensive 😋 worth the stop

Surprised to find such a good eatery in an industrial estate! Good selection of meals and cakes at a good price. Vegetarian and vegan options too.

Excellent few visits to Route 7 for lunch and breakfast. Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was very good quality and the homemade scones were fantastic. We’ll definitely be back!

Best breakfast in Aviemore. Staff are very pleasant. The Club Sandwich Whopper was fantastic for lunch as well. Parking can be a challenge.

Great place just to sit and chill. On our way home we called in for breakfast - stunning! Heading to this place you might think you’ve taken a wrong turn but keep going ‘till you get here - you won’t be disappointed 👍
