Broom Campsite

We were a family of 4 adults and 2 kids (grandparents, parents and children) looking for a place to stay for 1 night to split up a long drive South. Broom Leisure's static accommodation at Broom Fisheries appeared ideal for our needs. I had never stayed in a static before and wasn't sure how secure and comfortable it would be.

Any concerns I had were ill-founded as the static turned out to be better equipped than most Airbnb appartments that I had stayed in previously.

It was pristine, super clean, spacious (considering what it was), with just enough space for 4 adults and 2 children. The 2 showers helped enormously, and the hot tub was a very nice addition that we really enjoyed. The kitchen was well-equipped, even containing a bottle opener so we could enjoy a glass of wine with our meal!

Carole and John (the owners) were lovely and very accommodating. They didn't mind when I explained that we would be arriving very late, and they were very flexible with our needs. Communication was excellent throughout. They have thought of absolutely everything that a small holiday home would need and they absolutely deserve 5 stars.

I do not fish, but it is clear that most of the accommodation is used by families who partake in the fishing activities that the site offers. If you do fish then this site is ideal.

The only difficulty I had was in locating the site as the post code is used for the whole area and is not precise. We arrived in the darkness of night so I needed some old fashioned visual cue directions from Carole but once we found the (fairly isolated) camp site we were fine.

This is truly a hidden gem that deserves a wider audience. I'll definitely use the accommodation again the next time I'm in the area. 5 stars all round.

Stunning remote location, very peaceful and ladies we spoke to were very helpful and accommodating. Great value for money, and excellent view of the stars.
