I love ordering from here! The food is clearly made with love and care. Delivered perfectly, what is supposed to be hot is still hot, what is supposed to be cold is still cold. A real treat! Whether for breakfast or lunch or brunch, I would heartily recommend!

Also, special recommendation for the Christmas dinner they do, in the run up to Christmas, it's absolutely next level food, so moreish! I wish you did it all year round ❤

Proprietor was delightful. Wide range of food on offer for breakfast or lunch. Freshly prepared and delicious. Our party of five went back two days in a row, in fact: some to have another go at the full English breakfast (which served as excellent fuel for a long day’s walk on Hadrian’s wall), while others sampled the breakfast sandwiches and the eggs/bacon offering. Anyway, if you’re in Carlisle and you want excellent food, at a good price, with a perfectly charming owner, you must give it a try!

The place is absolutely amazing, great atmosphere, great staff and of course great food always come here or order for home. The food is always fresh and is homemade and very delicious 😋 will always be back

This little gem was found by accident. Had the full English with Haggis and fried bread. Everything was cooked fresh and of a high quality. We will definitely be a regular here now as the food was that good and topped off by excellent service. Highly recommend going

My son and I stayed at the Travel Lodge Central but having seen the breakfast items for ourselves, decided not to bother. We found the Penny Farthing by chance and were so glad we stopped off there for breakfast. First it was cheaper than the plastic and rubber looking food at the Travel Lodge, and second it was freshly cooked by a lovely lady who clearly took the time and care. If you are staying at the Travel Lodge, have breakfast at the Penny Farthing which is two minutes around the corner.

Whilst staying at the nearby Travel Lodge hotel, my husband and I came here and had a delicious vegetarian full English breakfast. Everything was freshly cooked by the very friendly owner, Lynn. Great service and value for money, clean and welcoming.

A lovely Breakfast! Ingredients were high quality and locally sourced, fresh, hot and excellent value for money. Really pleased to find them open on a Sunday (10am till 2pm). Will be going again :-)

Family run restaurant with great food at a reasonable price . I recommend going there when in Carlisle

Brilliant experience and unexpectedly tasty food for a cantering business. The wait was long 20 mins + but you get the freshest food in exchange which is fair.

This place has a lovely friendly character. The menu had a varied selection of food and drink. Stopped in for breakfast but it was so nice that we ordered some baguettes to take away for lunch.

Hidden gem just across the road from the travel lodge. Excellent food very good service and value for money.

I sometimes pop in here for a full breakfast on a Saturday morning. Always get served by the same, chatty and very friendly woman who cooks a very nice and tasty breakfast. Can't complain at all.

Went for breakfast and it was amazing! Proper sausage and eggs poached perfectly! We will be back!!

The ladies here are welcoming and the selection of food and drink is great. This is a fab place to pop to grab some breakfast or lunch before heading into town.

Ate a lovely freshly cooked breakfast here. Had to have two cups of the fresh brewed coffee. Clean and with good food.
