Brilliant site! Beautiful, great vibe, amazing times! Only 1 thing I would suggest is a bit more lighting on paths and around tree stumps as we've had a few casualties over the years xx

Spent a sunny weekend camping here recently and what a lovely spot! Great location, chilled vibe and I loved the composting loos with a view! Looking forward to our next visit.

Amazing venue, the best views for miles and excellent facilities. My friends booked for a surprise birthday party and there were about 30+ of us. We were treated highly and if a problem arose someone came immediately and sorted it. My highlights were the views and the outdoor showers with the views, you need to try it to understand. It was so good we've definitely booked it again for next year. 5 stars!!

Amazing and very special place, the yurt was sooooo cozy in the frost and waking up to look at the sunrise over the valley was amazing. Made roast chicken in the fire and had to do a cold water dunk like a sauna. Fantastic to get away from it all. The yurts have everything you can think of and more. All hand crafted furniture gives it a very Boho and hip feel as well. Very boutique! Xxx loved it thanks so much

Marthrown is such a magical place and Pam & Mike are wonderful, helpful hosts. Being able to hire exclusive use of the hot tub and sauna at my last visit made it all the more special! Would highly recommend if you enjoy a rustic, natural experience. I've stayed in both yurts - the wood burners are just lovely! Everything you need is there and we've had some lovely walks through the forest 👌

We stayed in the family yurt in September 2020. My sister & I very quickly destressed, prepared our meal at the outdoor table & cooked on the chiminea & the BBQ. Pam had been really helpful when I booked & was friendly & welcoming on arrival. The family yurt has beautiful scenery & lots of local walks, and you can bring your dog! Waking up here was elating. I would recommend if you like friendly, quiet, rustic, beautiful countryside & a really cool yurt!

Enjoyed three days here with the dogs and have to say the most relaxed place ever. Between four of us we took 14 dogs so when they say dog friendly they truly for once are. Don't expect white bedlinen and fine china this is a proper off grid rural holiday in the middle of the most stunning scenery and forestry. We were even lucky enough to experience the bongo drums that came to rehearse. If it's peace and tranquility you are after with your four legged pals this is the best place we have ever been! So good we booked again before we left... Thanks Pam and co x

AMAZING VENUE!!

We booked the whole site for 4 days and had such a great time. Really fantastic facilities and energy tucked away. And no midges in July what a relief.

Would highly recommend for a private alternative gathering.

Had a great stay here with the kids and dog. Pam and Mick are lovely hosts, enjoyed our time in the teepee and forest. Will be back to try the yurt in the near future.
Kitchen set up is great for cooking, all the utensils and pots you need (ours stayed in the car)
Teepee for clean and tidy with beds and bean bag chairs ready.
Logs and wood for the fire all ready.
Indoor facilities clean and tidy.
And the outdoor toilets and showers whilst “bracing” on a cool April morning were some of the cleanest compost toilets we’ve used.
Definitely worth a visit.

Wonderful location. Fabulous views. Wood fired hot tub & sauna great experience. Basic bathroom facilities but accommodation well equipped and unusual. A real escape but not for the luxury seeker or fastidious.

This place is great, just got back from my fourth annual trip. Pam and Mike are fantastic hosts, they make you feel very welcome without being in your hair all the time.
If you're looking for a nice place to visit that's a little out of the way it should be high up your list. Great spot to visit the other Staines from too.

Heaven on a hillside ! If you are looking for an escape, this IS the place, tucked away on the Dumfries hillside, yurts, cabins, hot tub, walks in the woodlands. Tranquil, beautiful, soul boosting experience. I sat in awe just looking at surroundings for miles, and I mean miles. Mike (host) even managed to book the moon & stars to appear at hot tub time, complete with real flame lighting and then again he pulled beautiful sunshine out the bag in the morning.!☀ The yurt with log burner inside was comfy, cosy, and a wee home from home. They have thought of everything possible to make this just perfect. Thank you. I WILL be back x

Our second stay at Marthrown. The kids absolutely love it here. They can run around without a care in the world. Fantastic view's, great host's and amazing surroundings. Hopefully we will be back soon.

There are no words to describe the unique pleasure of Marthrown. Come and escape the hectic 21st century for a couple of nights and you'll leave feeling relaxed and happy. Pam and Mike are a delight and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable

Such an amazing place, dreams are made here, every facility hits the mark everytime, having had a few events there I can say it is truly one of my favourite places, Pam and Mike are amazing too they know how to treat people and make there nights n dreams come true, nothing but Giantlove for this place if there was an option for 6 stars I would still give them 7

Amazing campsite, off the beaten track in a wonderful forest with fantastic hot tub and sauna - perfect for sore muscles from a tour of the 7 Stanes MTB trails.

A nice and tranquil place to slow down and appreciate the sunset.We stayed there for 3 nights, but I think the longer you stay, the more interactive you can embrace the nature!Love the place and strongly recommend!

Great campsite and bunk barn. Loos and Hot shower - all with a view. MTB from the tents! And shelter when wet. Great spot

It was awesome,enjoy everything about it, we had never been before, so good to get out walking fresh air and great for the soul weather was sunny x

Sons wedding was here two weeks ago. The location is amazing. Had a great time and the food was excellent
