Little Lake District wedding reception.

We have been visiting Mae's for around 8 years now on our way to and from the lakes. We always receive great service and enjoy the food. So when we were looking for a small venue for our wedding reception we were delighted that Mae's could host it. It was absolutely perfect for us and our guests (around 50 people) Mae's provided a buffet style reception however they offered us a range of food styles and choices. The food was delicious and the service by Mark and his team was excellent.
The traditional school house building and quintessential lakeland backdrop was perfect for our wedding photographs.
All our guests enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the lake district surroundings.
Would definitely recommend Mae's for an intimate Lake District wedding.

What a lovely little piece of England. For years we've been visiting this area but only just discovered this place. So friendly and beautifully fresh tasty food. Teacakes , scones, and carrot cake were very good. We will definitely be back.

Finished binsey and found this little gem a couple of minutes away. The staff we extremely polite, the service amazing and the food/drink was perfect. I would love to try the binsey breakfast!

Absolutely loved this place. It was a random stop on our cycle trip but so good you'll plan your next trip to include this place.
The lady serving us was attentive. We had Sunday lunch, a scone and carrot cake and I don't know which of these to praise most. Definitely worth a detour to get here!

Delicious cream tea and what a lovely place to have it. Restored victorian school and a galery with fantastic view.
Free car park for few cars. Seats inside or outside. Great service (it can get busy there). We picked the place randomly and were not disappointed.
Great stop if you hiking around or on the way from lakes.

Probably the warmest and most sincere welcome we've had during our stay in The Lakes. Good food, reasonably prices. And tea from tea leafs - not bags! Who does that anymore. Set in an old school house (closed 1991) lots of locally made gifts on show for sale.

Friendly staff. Quick service. Reasonable prices. Lovely cakes. The items in the gallery were extremely well priced and though the selection was not extensive there was still enough to choose from. I bought a lovely necklace and earrings at a very good price. Fell in love with the paintings but had to talk my self out of a purchase as I have no where to hang one.

Cool local tea room that is way off the beaten path but popular with local traffic. Service was great and hot chocolate was a huge hit!

Stopped at this lovely place for lunch. Set in a Victorian school. Very spacious and modern, child friendly. Sandwiches, soup and baked potatoes are amongst some of the food offerings. We were made to feel very welcome. The lady who served us spoke kindly to my children and offered them crisps and cucumber with their sandwiches rather than salad and coleslaw. Lovely experience would definitely visit again.

Super cute place in a beautiful countryside area with friendly staff and delicious cream tea! The Victoria sponge was also great but had to have a second round of the scones with butter, home made jams and cream.

Came for the Sunday dinner and was delicious. Yorkshire puddings amazing. Plenty of character with a beautiful wood burner in the room and a comfy sofa and chairs in front of it. A hidden gem. Would recommend this place to anyone x

Lovely tea room with fantastic views. It is inside an old stone walled primary school so is full of character.
The food was good and the staff are friendly.

Reserved a table for Sunday lunch. It was a sunny day so the views were amazing. We had Roast pork and 1 lamb shank. Plenty of food on the plate. Huge Yorkshire pudding. You could have starters and dessert as well but we were all full up. We'll worth visiting.

Delicious sandwiches and cheesecake for sweet, when we visited a couple of weeks ago. Fabulous views from outdoor tables, good loose leaf tea, and helpful service. Worth making a trip there.
