Maes Y Felin

I visited this care home yesterday to see a friend, who had recently moved in. My initial thoughts upon arrival were how wonderfully kept the exterior of the building, the grounds and car parking area were. I was greeted by a smart and friendly member of staff, who immediately recognized whom I wanted to visit and where my friend was in the building. I was then led inside and introduced. I noted the welcoming attitude and how respectfully my friend was addressed by the staff member, who took time to introduce me. The interior was homely and spotless. My friend was dressed appropriately in his own clothes, clean and shaven. He was sat amongst residents whom all displayed the same degree of care in appearance. The atmosphere was light and friendly. I was allowed plenty of time toc hat with my friend. My friend had made friends with another resident, whom I was freely able to converse with. Both stated to me without hesitation how nice the staff were and how happy they were. I wandered through the ground floor on the way out and the door to the kitchens was open. Wow...spotless, the staff were too and the food cooking smelt wonderful. I left hugely reassured that my fried was safe, very well cared for and happy. I have experience of care homes and understand how difficult it is for family to make the decision to support a relative into residential care. I can only say that I would be very pleased to support a friend or relative into this home, judged on my visit yesterday.
