Very, very impressed with the service, food and prices at The King's Plaice. Fancied a quick fish and chips lunch with my brother while visiting Southport. The Kings Plaice was perfect. Fantastic, attentive staff. The offer of fish and chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and a tea/coffee for £9.99 to eat in is pretty much unbeatable these days.

The food was very nice, not the best fish and chips I've ever had, but for the price it was brilliant and I'd definitely visit again. Keep up the good work 😃🐟

Awesome value for money, clean and modern looking chippy in a great location. Pensioners special £7.95 represented a great deal. Staff couldn't do enough for you and were working really hard. Food was incredibly tasty with decent portion sizes. Looking forward to returning, top marks all round.

Absolutely gorgeous! Great and friendly staff. I had the small cod, chips, and gravy. The gravy was stunning thick and tasty. the cod was beautifully cooked and the chips were nice and soft. Definitely recommended to anyone looking for a good chippy in southport.

Had lunch here today. And it was the best fish I ever had. The service was excellent and the food was piping hot. The prices were very reasonable. I was that impressed I left a £10.00. Other fish and chip shops could learn a thing or two from this place. And dog friendly a big thank you

Whilst walking down Lord Street, we decided on fish and chips at the King’s Plaice and it was delightful!

The fish was perfectly flaky inside a crispy golden batter, and the chips were just the right amount of crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. With a slice of bread with butter and a brew was a nice touch, making it a classic, comforting meal that hit all the right spots.

The staff were friendly, polite and welcoming, cleaning the tables ready for the next customers, to ensure cleanliness is maintained.

This was the first time that we decided to eat inside and we will be eating there again

If you’re visiting Southport and fancying fish and chips this plaice is definitely worth a visit. The food always tastes great, with generous portions and a good selection. Personally I love the fish, light batter and full of flavour.

The staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant has plenty of tables but if you’re eating on the go they even do take away.

We had originally planned to go to the oldest fish and chips shop in Southport, however as this was a Monday it was closed 😱.
This meant that we went and found the Kings Plaice.
And we are very glad that we did, otherwise we would not have realised how good the food at this chip shop is.
They even do a special set meal for Senior citizens.
The batter on the fish is very tasty and probably the best I have tasted and very light, accompanied by superb chips and mushy peas served as an ample portion.

Visited King's Plaice on 26.9.21 first time I've eaten there . I was pleased with the meal of fish🐟 and 🍟 i had. The fish tasted freshly cooked very moist and batter crispy the chips 🍟 are good too .the staff was polite and attentive and there are toilets 🚻 inside for customers. Well worth a visit if you are in Southport .

What a great chip shop. All the food was delicious, fresh fish from Fleetwood cooked really well. Great staff too.

Our order was dealt with quickly All fish cooked to order. Our meals arrived hot The Fish was cooked in a lovely crispy batter. We chose the small sized meal just to see what the meals were like. We enjoyed it

The best fish chips and mushy peas I have tasted for a long time cooked to perfection, by the young lady from Liverpool, the staff are pleasant, our waitress who had taken our order was lovely would visit again

Had a few hours out in Southport, called into Kings Plaice for a bite to eat, friend had a small fish and chips with mushy peas , bread and coffee and I had the regular size , cost uust under £14 , well worth the money , fish was absolutely cooked to perfection with a nice covering of light batter , staff friendly and helpful , safety measures well in place , also liked that each table had a large sanitizer to gel your hands once you had sat down to eat

One of the best fish I've had from a chippy however on a cold February day, you'd expect them to close the door but it was left wide open so we had to keep our coats on 🥶

Friendly, quick service. Had the 'Pensioners Special' - beautifully cooked, onc of the best Fish 'n Chip meals I've had for ages.

It's a very simple menu but truly amazing food. The staff are fantastic attentive but not in your face

The young lady serving recons they serve the best fish, she is so right, best fish and chip meal l have had in years, at a really good price.
I will definitely become a regular customer, worth the 1hr drive. Cheers
