Sainsbury's

We popped in today for some last minute Christmas treats. We expected it to be absolute bedlam but no. No issues parking, and it isn’t a large car park. The store was busy, but not frantic. Plenty of tills open and shelves well stocked, although the produce was running a little low.
We got everything we needed and queued only momentarily.

It's great for town shopping. Central for transport as I don't drive. Good selection and I know the store layout.

Just big enough not to get lost in! A lovely gentleman helped me at the checkout which was staffed by a lovely efficient lady. Look forward to a return shop next time.

Small Sainsbury's but exactly what you'd expect, can get a full shop as long a you're not too picky. No cafe or counters, small bakery, no Argos and no petrol station. Parking free for 30 mins (or 2 hours if you spend £5) so good if you're just nipping in.

Great supermarket in the town centre. Seems to have everything you could need and must be great for those living in the town centre who either don't have transport or don't want to travel to the large tesco stores or perhaps morrisons which I suppose isn't too far away

M y wife ordered sushi trays for collection from Southport store. I went in to store around 16.00 on Christmas Eve to collect them, presenting my confirmation email to customer service desk.
A supervisor came over to deal with me and asked me if this was a late pickup. She then very sensitively advised me that the time on my confirmation email was a time slot for collection and not when the product would be available for collection. She went on to say that my order might have been returned to stock and might no longer be available but she would check.
On looking closer at the email, it did say collection after 10.00 but on 23.12.21, NOT 24.12.21. I was 36 hours late!
The supervisor ( a young lady with a Scottish accent sorry I didn’t get your name) came back with two of the three trays we had ordered and was very apologetic. I tried to say that it was our fault not the shop, but she insisted on presenting us with a bunch of flowers and a large dessert (profiterole pyramid) to make up for the missing tray.
This was service beyond exceptional, especially as it was us who were at fault not the store.

The lady could not have been nicer or more helpful and is a credit to the company.

Good quality food. May not be the cheapest supermarket, and there may be some difficulty with their supplies chain. But, Sainsbury's have maintsined their good quality and value for money. Staff are always helpful, pleasant and as a disabled shopper I have found their staff very kind and considerate throughout. Whether you visit for a few odd items or a full weekly shop, I don't think you'll be disappointed with your shopping experience. Top marks for cleanliness too.

Had a lovely time. Took great care of my friend who has allergies. Couldn't fault anything. (Just a bit cold because of Covid restrictions we had to sit outside. The staff provided us with blankets) Recommend The Kicking Donkey for good food and friendly chef and staff.

Sainsburys has been at this location for 40 years and I was worried it would be closed, with the rumours of their new store in Kew. It is in a great location for many people and you don't need a car to use it. A taxi rank right outside the door is always stocked. During the transport stock problems, I still managed to get everything I needed from it. The staff are always helpful, plentiful and know the section they work in well. It is clean, very clean considering how hard supermarkets can be to stay on top of. A pharmacy is handily on site, and the only one on Lord Street. It has substantial parking, including disabled spots, as well as good wheelchair access. Great self service and scan shopping/pay as you go. Amazing prices, especially on fresh meat and fish products. Everything I need is there and a good free from section as well as World, considering it is comparatively small as a supermarket. Good customer service, clean, well stocked and good choice, great prices and perfect location. 5 stars.
