I would highly recommend this cute wee cafe in the centre of St. Andrews.
Every table was full ( which speaks volumes for the food and service). We went for a takeaway of soup and it was delicious.
The soup is always vegan and gluten free as stated on the menu board which was fab as we struggle to find home made vegan soup when out and about.
The service was great too!
Will definitely be back and recommend to others!
Thank you 💛😴

The best cafe in St Andrews in my opinion! Very busy wee place, especially on weekends, so make sure to book in advance! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed a delicious scone with jam and cream (of the best I've had) and a lovely cup of tea. A really good selection of cakes on display and an extensive menu. My friend ordered the sausage roll and it was huge, so come with an appetite. Portion sizes are great! My go to in St Andrews now 👌🏻

Cute little cafe in one of the lanes. I had the fruit scones with cream and jam! Also tried their hot chocolate! It was hearty!

My friends tried the coffee and a cake. They liked it as well.

The place is generally packed and people have their gatherings in the outdoor seating even in the middle of the week. We were lucky to get a table!

This is an absolute gem of a place in St Andrews! We were given a table outside which is a lovely courtyard, and dog-friendly is a bonus! We had our two children so they both ordered macaroni cheese, and we ordered the Shrimp Po’Boy and Steak Philly sandwiches which were both amazing - the prawns were juicy and the pickled slaw was so good!! I didn’t think I’d manage to eat the side of sweet potato fries I’d ordered after seeing the size of our mains but they were so crispy and perfectly cooked, they got demolished too! The kids macaroni portion was really good and the garlic bread was homemade and lovely.
Service was top notch, very friendly welcoming team and even little touches like having plastic cups for the kids to use is really good. A really pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, could’ve easily sat there all afternoon! Can’t wait to go back again and try the other options on the menu because the choices are great, it was hard to pick just one! Thank you to The Cottage Kitchen!

On a cold winter day, we popped in for a lovely plate of homemade soup, we were not disappointed. We were in a bit of a rush but could not leave without some fabulous carrot cake which I enjoyed at home. Lady boxed it up so it was perfect

Came here for a quick breakfast before golfing. Wanted an english breakfast and this place hit the spot. Simple but good quality ingredients. Staff was very friendly and accommodated our large group of 6. Place is small so call ahead to check for seating.

We enjoyed a late lunch of Macaroni Cheese with salad, garlic bread (plus a side potion of fries) finished off with a slice of vegan chocolate cake and Millionaire shortbread. It was all absolutely superb, including the service and the welcoming staff.

Had a visit to St Andrews for the day, we needed a dog friendly lunch spot. We came across the cottage kitchen and we are so glad we did! The food was delicious, the gingerbread latte was amazing and my partner loved the homemade biscoff cake. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming! We sat outside as inside was really busy, I’d suggest booking especially during the weekend.

Would highly recommend. It was very busy when we arrived and we were offered a table at their marquee at the rear. We were hungry and it wasn't too cold so that was fine. Was excited that you could have a cup of Cullen Skink with my Croque Monsieur, so I opted for that. The soup was a meal in itself, packed with fish and potato. The sandwich was equally as good. Very efficient and friendly service and very good value for money. There are plenty of cafe options in St Andrews, but I would recommend you head for the Cottage Kitchen.

One of the best vegan breakfasts I’ve had, see photo. Add some good coffee and outdoor seating to watch the world go by and you have the perfect wee spot in St Andrews.

A very pleasant surprise find this afternoon after the place we expected to visit was closed. Left in limbo and feeling hunger pangs we began a search and fortunately came across this place first. From outside it looked promising and we could see a very enticing selection of baked good at the servery, A quick inspection of the lunch menu showed further promise and once inside we were warmly greeted and promised a table within 5 minutes as the groud level was full. However agreeing to sit upstairs we were seated immediately. There was the unmistakeable scent of cullen skink which was irrestitable. Once seated the menu proved to make chosing a challenge because so much was appealing. We settled on a mug of soup and toasted snadwhiches. One cullen skink and a croque monsiuer and one carrot and corriander and a mushroom and gruyere. This was accompanied by latte and decaf tea. Everything was absolutely delicious and filling. There are only 2 tables upstairs and we struck up a conversation with 2 lovely ladies at the next table about the curious high window. All the servers were friendly and attentive. Service was timely and all in all it was a great experience we look forward to repeating soon.

Friendly staff, tasty food and reasonably priced. St Andrews is filling up with bigger chain shops so it is nice to support something independent.

Very popular spot in St Andrews (be prepared to be turned away at their busiest times) but worth the wait if you can get in. We enjoyed a wonderful cream tea and some great people-watching if the weather permits and you can sit outside. Their mobile ordering service was a bit clunky but the young servers were happy to wait on tables. Highly recommended.

One of the nicest places in St Andrews. Can recommend strongly for a nice cup of coffee and excellent cakes, brunch or lunch. We have also enjoyed multiple group dinners for private occasions or conferences at The Cottage Kitchen and have enjoyed them greatly. All the food is home made and locally sourced, and always delicious. The staff is also extremely friendly - we'll definitely be back!

Came for a late lunch on a Sunday. Place is quaint and cozy, with friendly staff. I had the chicken terrine, cauliflower soup with warm focaccia, and the lemon poppy seed cake, with an iced latte. Everything was delicious!

Came again for late breakfast on a Saturday, 11am. Was not too busy, and the eggs Benedict was very good. Light hollandaise, juicy ham, and nicely poached eggs.

One of the very rare cafes who does seasoning right. Lovely environment, incredibly friendly staff, and really nice food for breakfast. Would recommend to drop by if you're in St. Andrews!

This is perhaps the best local coffee shop in St Andrews! The place is really cute with wooden tables and a garden at the back. You can choose from a large variety of homemade cakes or you can have a scone. There is also a great lunch menu with delicious hot soups and more homemade meals. The coffee is really good and there is also a good selection of teas. You have to try the macchiato and the carrot cake, they are delicious!!

Wonderful place with amazing food. My friends and I stopped here based on the reviews and were not disappointed. I got one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever had, and my friend said their vegan chocolate cake was life changing. I will definitely go back next time I’m in St Andrews!
