It's amazing that we have lived in the area for many years but this is the first time I have visited this nature reserve. I walked to it from Town Quay in Newton Abbot. There is a tarmacadam pathway for a good length and a myriad footpaths through the marshes with little wooden bridges in certain places to cross streams. I walked in the height of summer when the paths were dry but I can imagine that you would need boots in the wet season. As usual inconsiderate cyclists can be a nuisance.

Lovely walk. Do this regularly with the family. Good to wear walking boots / wellies as some parts are muddy 😁

Great walk. Flat, clean and easy access. Bird life is fantastic with an added 'dog friendly' swim area. Highly recommend it

A decent sized Nature Reserve for dog walking, bike rides and much more!

Loads of pathways to wander off down and a lovely area for dogs to have a swim in.

Only negative about this place is that the car park there is very small and is often full up. Have had to park down a nearby residential road instead, but it's not really a massive issue which is why I am still giving 5 stars!

A beautiful walk location and very flat. Lovely family walk location with multiple route options. Great for walking, cycling or nature photography. Benches are placed periodically and great for picnics. Wood carving animals are popular with children and the Passage House inn is close by.

Amazing how this has been uncovered and preserved. Great for the kids to learn to bike ride, just watch out for the selfish bradley wiggins wannabees that treat it like a ra e track.

A brilliant place for everyone. Along the Lee Valley river the nature reserve with a path for cycling and for waking/jogging etc. In the narrow stretch of the forest there are the wooden installations making this area quite magical.

Going in main entrance there a car park to the left and winners gym to right . A small river to the left of the path flows and joins the estuary that flows out to teignmouth and beyond open grass land and tall reads can be see, following it on you can either stick to the path and follow it round to the left eventually returning to the carpark or follow the newer right hand path signed to newton abbot, this boundaries the newton abbot railway on the left high on banks or the right , newton Abbot race course an easy accessible walk for all

Walked around the marshes many times, in summer on a quiet day when walking through the central paths and hearing the reeds and trees rustling is very relaxing.
