Freeklime Huddersfield

Had my daughter's birthday party here and it was great from the start. Great communication from the staff when booking and on arrival they were friendly and really got the kids excited for climbing. Charlie led the group and had a really good way with the group, they listened well but had loads of fun too! We brought our own food to eat afterwards, which is allowed, so all in all we were there for 2 hours and they all loved it as well as being worn out! Thanks guys!

Me and my husband went today as complete novices but the staff were super friendly, supportive and encouraging. We came out of there pumped and keen for another session. I would highly recommend it

This place is great! Visited this Saturday to see what it was like, and I'm eager to go back again soon.

Everything is fairly priced, staff are informative and supportive (shoutout to Emily) and a good range on the walls.

Atmosphere with other people around is relaxed and respectful, people of all abilities were there when I went.

I'm a beginner in climbing and bouldering but FreeKlime makes me want to try it out more. 🐞🖤💚

Absolutely fantastic!! We're not from around the area and decided to come whilst visiting York for a couple of days. We received such a friendly welcome from everyone in there using the facilities, but in particular from the young gentleman who owns Freeklime. His enthusiasm, knowledge and friendly demeanor were second to none! This coupled with the excellent facilities means we will definitely make the trip back with the kids next time to go again!! Brilliant place, couldn't recommend enough!!!

We had a brilliant birthday party at Freeklime. The children had a great time and we're really brave on the wall. The staff are friendly, helpful and kept the children entertained whilst I set up the party table for our food afterwards. It was so easy to book, sort waivers and so reasonably priced. such a nice place to climb! we went on a sunday afternoon so it was pretty quiet (aside from a kids party, but they had an area sectioned off for them). the staff are really lovely and super approachable, particularly the lady who gave my friend and i our induction - i can’t remember her name unfortunately but just know that you’re great! the routes are really fun and they’ve done really well with the space they have. a lot of gyms don’t make the ‘beginner’ routes very interesting (V0-2) but that wasn’t a problem at all here, i loved it! at £9 for general admission, you can’t really go wrong. unfortunately we had to rush off pretty soon after we started, but it was still worth the price to me. it’s such a shame that i don’t live locally as i’d definitely be a regular! thank you to the freeklime team, i’ll be back when i’m back in the area :)

Took my kids (12 and 10) to the class on Sunday and they loved it. The instructor Charlie was really patient and informative and gave them the confidence to really have a go and enjoy themselves. I was so inspired I booked a 'have a go' session myself on Monday and had a thoroughly great time. Emily was my instructor and talked me through everything I needed to know to get started and by the end of the hour I had confidently climbed some beginner problems! I am already planning my next visit. Great, friendly place, highly recommended.

It was our first time going so had to supervise my boy. He loved it and wants to come back. Can't wait so I can have a go myself

Brilliant afternoon out...our first time at Freeklime. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable - we got a good induction..theres plenty of different walls to climb, with easy to hard colour coding.
We really enjoyed it and will visit again

I'm in my 40s and only started bouldering at freeklime a year ago. I absolutely love it! As a member, i can climb anytime, which helps with a busy schedule. Everyone, staff and climbers are so helpful and supportive. As a middle aged lady approaching menopause I wanted to do more weight bearing exercise, bouldering is perfect. I can do as little or as much as I want each session. I have really felt the benefits physically, but also socially through meeting so many lovely people.

Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff - always attentive and look after you. The routes and climbs are always really good, some really challenging ones. Good selection of routes and always a good trip down. Coffee is great too!

Brought my five year old for a first time climb. Nate was so warm, supportive and helpful. He’s super shy, but within 5 minutes was climbing to the top of the walls. A great experience that he can’t stop telling everybody about.

If I could rate higher, I would! I've been coming to Freeklime for a few months now, it didn't take long for me to go for a membership! The staff have done really well creating a welcoming and social place, and the climbs are really varied and fun. I would recommend the Technique Masterclasses - the teaching is really great, I've learnt and improved so much and has really helped my confidence with climbing.

I have been a member since opening week and have been to Freeklime 2-3 times per week since.

The staff are awesome, friendly and if you ask nicely will help you with just about anything!

The gym is always really clean, with toilets and changing rooms available plus a nice reception area for a drink and a bite to eat.

The routes are one of the big strengths at Freeklime, ranging from V0 for absolute novices up to some pro level V8s there is something for every skill level. Recently Freeklime has added full support for the Griptonite training app so you can measure your progress over time, this is an absolute game changer, so much fun and it makes it so easy to keep a log book that lives on your phone. It also has a fun league table so you can see how you stack up against your mates.

It’s definitely a beginner friendly gym with lots of courses and taster sessions available. They also host some great events from women’s socials to local competitions.

Overall I give Freeklime 5/5!!!

I took my children for their first time last week. From the initial phone call to our visit l have experienced nothing but welcoming, helpful assistance. Just booked a block of 8 sessions and my children are excited about returning. A warm friendly reception goes a long way. Nice one.

First time going after trying out bouldering at my gym,the staff are so friendly and everything you need! Would visit again to bring friends or family here!

Great first time visit, Tiff was particularly helpful with giving me some pointers and taking some photos/videos for social media

I have not been bouldering since the pandemic so it's been a while. Sign away your life, have a tour of the place, noting fire escapes, cafe, changing rooms, toilets and open/closed lockers and off you go. Really friendly staff led me through the induction, I hired some shoes for my friend, so you have no excuse for not trying this. V1 to V-silly routes, well marked and plenty of spacing so you're not waiting for people to finish. Very mixed ages/experience and of course very friendly people climbing, so I didn't feel awkward or not part of the scene. It's great to be back, and going back here is a promise. Thanks guys!
