A lovely cafe that we stopped at by chance. Living close by it’s something we’ve overlooked but we had always heard good things about.
After being there today in a confirm that if you’ve heard good things about Hillhouse Cafe, they are true.
The atmosphere was lovely, really warm and welcoming, dog friendly too!
The staff saw to us right away and took us to a table, we ordered drinks is first; two coffees that came quickly.
I ordered the special which was an open BBQ bacon sandwich on sourdough with salad and slaw, it was excellent. My wife ordered a jacket with prawn mayo, again she thoroughly enjoyed it and the Portions sizes were very generous!
Great staff, great food and reasonably priced.
Absolutely would recommend (even if it’s out your way).

Househill cafe is lovely not just because of the food but also for the little connected shop, the bakery for sweet treats after you meal and the overt freshness that can be tasted from the fresh ingredients used.

Excellent spot for lunch because the food is not too heavy and allows one to head off in any direction thereafter.

Great to see the new menu at Househill with lots of appealing Asian options. Bao buns were excellent with the cauliflower a surprise favourite. Sound deadening panels on the roof have helped quieten down what was a slightly noisy environment when busy. Overall a pleasant improvement to what was already a favourite place to eat.

This is such a lovely countryside cafe. I wish they would have a branch in my city as well. The foods are large, so it would be a good idea to share if you do not overeat. Plenty of parking spaces. Staffs are incredibly kind and friendly. No complaints at all from me.

It's a lovely place close to Nairn. Has pretty large outside space and noticed bowls with water for our furry friends :)
Has quite few tables inside.
Food was very tasty. I had a days special - oak smoked salmon on sourdough bread with salad and couldn't resist to order some sweet potato fries. My partner had chicken burger with Korean sauce. Was very delicious. Do recommend this place.

Great breakfast , attentive and friendly staff. Food fresh and hot. Only one thing, perhaps drain the baked beans off a bit?

A really lovely atmosphere. Plenty of choice on the menu, with nice interesting specials, and a fab range of cakes and bakes. Staff are always really friendly too.

Today I had the smashed avocado on sourdough with poached eggs (3 of them!!😍) which was absolutely lush! Eggs were cooked perfectly, literally made my day start with so much joy.

My friend and I also had the bagel of the day, which was haggis, cheese and bacon, which was also very tasty.

First time here in years! Was absolutely amazing. Great service nice table and the food was outstanding! I had the satay chicken burger which was actually one of the best chicken burgers I've had. The stick fries were the best! Coffee is as good as the best in Nairn! Will be back.

Just back today 6th Feb. Was even better!

Great place for a coffee and a naughty cake, or full blown meal. Service is always with a smile which makes the rural setting even more pleasant.

Very nice to visit, never had a bad meal in the place. Kind of out of the way so although it's always busy, you'll most likely always get a seat

Have always enjoyed lunch at Househill but first evening meal as meeting family members on a weekend golf break.

Will definitely return as fab food, ambience & service.

Recommend the cauliflower bao buns, chicken wings, half roast chicken, haloumi burger & the fish & chips. Bottle of Pinot Grigio very palatable too. All reasonably priced.
