Absolutely amazing breakfast. Me and my partner do a ranking of breakfasts and only ever had one that is as good so this is in our top 2, highly recommend. we were travelling back from the Scottish highlands and decided to stop off. They also posted my coat back to me which was so lovely of them.

Wow. What a splendid spot. The high rating on Google Maps is very well deserved. The food is great, excellent value and arrived at the double. Service is great too - the two ladies who served me were _lovely_. I shall definitely be back next time I'm in the area...

Pro tip 1: the seating is biased towards tables of 4, so it can fill (end empty) very quickly. Your patience will pay off.

Pro tip 2: if you head to the bathroom, be careful not to drop anything whilst crossing the stream (you'll have to find out for yourself...) as the 'floor' is metal mesh and small items could go straight through, never to be seen again...

Absolutely beautiful wee cafe..food was delicious and well presented. Trout pate was amazing. The staff were lovely and attentive.
The part of the The fishery inside the cafe was very well done and added to the atmosphere.
We even got the story of how the cafe was started.
Clearly a lot of hard work, dedication and pure love has been put into this lovely business ❤

Lovely place. For anyone interested in vegan options - there's nothing marked on the menu but staff were helpful. We had a roast veg and hummus panini (with crisps and salad) and soup. My son had a baked potato with beans and vegan butter. All really nice. It would be great to see a vegan-friendly cake, and for options to be labelled on the menu so make things easier for customers and staff. Overall really lovely place after a nice walk.

Brilliant place, the food the ambiance, the surroundings and especially the staff are just brilliant. It's doggy friendly and all the serving staff have wee treats in their pockets for our furry friends.

Tranquil spot down by the river, tastefully restored old Mill premises. Delicious soup & selection of light meals, filled rolls, panini etc. Great selection of cakes & scones, super coffee ☕. Outdoor seating also available, direct disabled access at the door. Car park a short walk 🚶‍♂ past the fish farm. Pleasant staff & dog 🐕 friendly.

Really nice cafe which is dog friendly. Nice varied menu. Cakes very nice. It's nice to see a seating area with plenty of room round each table, makes for a much nicer experience. Staff were very attentive, but not overbearing.

Went with a friend for a wee bite.
We had amazing food, a gorgeous smoothie, cappuccinos and probably the best cake I ever had: a ginger slice and an orange and raspberry loaf.
Not to mention the very friendly staff and comfy atmosphere. Oh, and Tess, the dog has a very warm welcome too plus treats.
We will definitely be back!

The food is good, the cafe interior full of charm and the patina of age, the outdoor and indoor seating rustic and the staff friendly and engaging - but oddly enough, the highlight was going to the toilets.
A lade (we think this is the right term) runs through the old water wheel room separating the cafe and bathrooms, and this is spanned by an open grated bridge that lets you see the young troutlets swimming up stream. We were engrossed by the struggle of these minnows and I know my kids would absolutely love it.

A small but delicious menu in a strikingly individual space. Stone flagstones, woodburning stove and a river running through it. Dogs welcome and offered water.

One of the loveliest and charming cafes I’ve ever been too. Dog friendly and beautiful set up. Had the trout pate, breakfast sandwich, and hot chocolate.

Food was delish, service was impeccable. Donna was our waitress and she was fabulous. Had my little boy with me who wanted to see the fish and the went out there way to let him see the fish being loaded into the tank he was loving life. Thank you so much. Great experience will most definitely be back. Can't believe I have only just tried this place. ☺
