We had the all-day Veggie Breakfast here at ColJan on Easter Monday at lunchtime. Only a few other customers were in because most of the shops in Ashburton had decided to stay closed. It was a fabulous mix in the breakfast, large beans that were not sweetened like tinned baked beans, haloumi cheese and expertly poached egg. A treat for the long holiday weekend and the start of the tourist season.

The food was very very good and the atmosphere was lovely; the steak was tender and very tasty and the lamb was also super tasty. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. We had a very nice evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant

Lovely restaurant with a warm atmosphere and great service. We had the charcuterie board to start and then an amazing steak and ale pie and a tasty pork chop. Definitely try the blueberry cheese cake for dessert!

After the chef was done cooking, he stopped by each table to ask how your dinner was and if you were happy with everything. Lovely touch that we really liked! We will definitely come back next time we are in Dartmoor!

WOW! the food is to die for! The food quality and flavours you would expect to pay top dollar for but it is at reasonable prices. This is top quality food coupled with great service and a friendly warm welcoming atmosphere.

Food was amazing, service was brilliant and probably the best Sunday lunch I have ever had would massively recommend.

Had a superb meal here tonight. Loved the decor and relaxed vibe. The food was tasty and beautifully presented and the service was attentive and efficient. A thoroughly enjoyable atmosphere and very pleased that we were able to bring our dog with us as we couldn't have left him alone at the campsite we were staying on. All in all the perfect end to our mini break in Dartmoor, we shall be back and only wish we had a similar eatery near us.

We had a really excellent meal, beautifully cooked and presented, and the food’s provenance was based on local sourcing. The staff were great, and the live acoustic guitar music produced a relaxing atmosphere. All in all first class!

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here on a Sunday. Very friendly and so accommodating for gluten free. I have a gluten free allergy and I could eat most of the menu, really impressed! We had the most delicious ham, piccalilli and boiled egg sandwich, and sweet potato rosti with spinach. Everything tastes super fresh and they use local ingredients. Will definitely be returning. Apparently they do a Mexican night which id like to try

Absolutely fantastic! We tried the duck and the pork, what can I say, both perfect. I don’t remember the last time I had such a tasty meal. Amazing chef, the rest of the staff are great too and nice atmosphere. Don’t expect huge portions, but do yourself a favour and try this place out. Desserts are very nice too.

We had ham and cheese toastie and wild garlic soup. Very sweet little place.

Just had an amazing meal. Best steak on the rocks ever! The "snags" were superb. Love the staff. Love the atmosphere. Pudfings were sublime and the sweet bag at the end made my son's day 😍

Can't wait to come back again!

Booked in for Sunday lunch in the garden with my husband and in laws. What a fabulous, warm and inviting atmosphere. The guys were so welcoming, all food/drinks options explained so passionately/knowledgeably, and all set in a beautiful outside space (enjoyed despite the English weather). We were so impressed and we impressed the in laws too; always a bonus!!

What a lovely welcoming place with good food and coffee and great patrons. Pretty much like Ashburton. A good place to go and be. Just next to Dartmoor... ideal and idyllic. Staff really helped me and were really kind and compassionate in my time of need.

We had such a warm welcome to the restaurant we instantly felt at ease and knew we were going to have a lovely evening. To top it off the food is amazing; a very talented chef. It's so refreshing to go to a restaurant where all of the staff clearly care about you having a great meal and experience. 100% recommend.

A very lucky find that we stumbled upon - also lucky to be seated without a booking at 6pm on a Saturday - the restaurant was almost full by 7. Cook your own steak/duck/fish on a hot plate in front of you. Very good size and quality portion of ribeye. Can’t remember the last time I saw a dessert for just a little over a fiver - brilliant!

We came to Moorish for our Christmas team lunch and it was one of the best buffets we have had. It was full of lots of different foods that catered to everyone. The customer service was amazing and we couldn't of asked for a better venue for our team lunch. Thank you so much to all the staff! we will highly recommend!

Amazing good, great service and couldn't be more dog friendly. Love this place!
