Best cooked breakfast around. We used to visit another main Street café but this exceeds them in every way. The cafe is quaint and offers great service with a cosy atmosphere. Have visited on quite a few occasions and am now a regular.

Had a light lunch here today, and it was excellent. The service was good, the coffee a good, strong blend, the rarebit was lush and my wife's BBQ chicken panini went down well.
I'd agree with one person's comment that the toilet is a little tired, but it's a damned sight better than many places.
If you are in Cheddar and away from the tourist area, I doubt you would be disappointed if you ate here.

Great little cafe, breakfast was excellent, cakes and pastries looked amazing too! Food and drinks were served quickly, tasted good and hit the spot! Would recommend and return!

I'm a foodie and I've just discovered my new favourite spot in Cheddar: The Village Cafe & Bakery, right in the town centre. Their Eggs Benedict was superb - fresh and perfectly cooked. It's refreshing to find a place that caters to locals with such quality, especially in a tourist-focused town. The coffee? Simply great. This cafe is now my top choice in Cheddar, perfect for locals year-round. Highly recommend!

My daughter and I had tea and cakes. A chocolate brownie and I had a Carrot cake. The service was excellent. Another reason to like this cafe is it's accessible for a wheelchair user. Unlike a few in the Gorge where there isn't access. Our family favourite thank you 🌟

Delicious soup, friendly helpful staff, ideal location for a quick bite to eat after the weekly shop in Sainsburys. Nice variety of food. Only downside was it was very quiet (unusually) so didn't have the best atmosphere today.

Dropped in to the cafe after lovely walk from black rock at the end of the gorge. The food, particularly the salads, looked great and were tasty and much more interesting than other tea shops we have visited recently. My wife had the poached eggs on avacado on sourdough which was also well presented and tasty. Pity we did not have room for one of the cakes.
Very pleased we had lunch at this gem of a cafe.

Lovely little cafe. We had Ham and Somerset Cheese Panini, which was served with salad and Balsamic roast potatoes. Very generous portion and absolutely tasty. Definitely recommend.

Ignore reviews that claim the food tastes cheap and staff are incompetent. We had a lovely experience here and ordered plenty of delicious treats including the absolutely divine sausage roll. Holy moly thats one to write home about!
The girls serving were a delight and the atmosphere was peaceful and wholesome. Not sure what kind of atmosphere people expect from a local cafe and bakery but we had no complaints. Some people just love to moan it seems!
10/10 from us and would highly recommend 👌

Odd start - we seated ourselves and waited for a while but nobody came with menus. After a few minutes I spotted menus on the counter top and was attended to there straight away. Other customers that came in at the same time also did the same, so it wasn't just us.

That said, the food and drink were excellent and the service was quick. The standard full English was well presented and looked like it had good quality ingredients. My Eggs Benedict was one of the best that I have ever had. Not sure what coffee beans they use, but the Americano was very good - not the lukewarm brown sadness water that some places sell. Will definitely be going back.

So pleased to see the centre of our village reinvigorated by the opening of this venue. The investment by Sean and Jackie into the infrastructure, equipment and decor has created a lovely atmosphere you can feel whether you're dashing in for a take -out or taking time out to meet up with friends.

The quality of the food I had was excellent, the price resonable and the service spot-on! Well done to you all - I wish you continued success and will be sending you many campers!

The breakfast is very nice. It could be bigger, but the fact that u can add more stuff free of charge is a plus. Try the tortilla.
