Oakerthorpe Holiday Village

We had the most amazing weekend at Oakerthorpe Holiday Village.
This was for our wedding weekend, with our wedding venue only 10 minutes away.
Giving the family a central hub to stay at and making lovely memories for the whole weekend.
We had combined the South Wing & Old Wine Cellar and also The Diary.
All 3 houses were absolutely beautiful, very clean and equipped with everything you need. The children absolutely loved the open space and seeing lots of different animals.
We will definitely return again, Oakerthorpe Holiday Village will no doubt become a yearly family holiday for us.

Just got back from a wonderful stay in Amber Lodge. The bungalow was amazing, lots of space and equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. The outside area with the hot tub was beautiful and it was a nice touch having the petting farm opposite. Great location too, look forward to staying again in the future :)

Our second time staying here and what a fantastic place it is. Our 7 year old had the most incredible time and loved visiting the animals over the 4 days we were there. Farmer Vic and the feeding time was great and he had so much time, patience and knowledge to give. Both goats were firm favourites! Amber lodge and the hot tub were brilliant and had everything we needed. Just looking at dates to book again!

Just spent 3 nights in the Milking Parlour Grande with family, 14 adults & 7 children. The accommodation is excellent, enough space for everyone to sit down together for a meal. The kitchen is really well equipped, outdoor courtyard with a hot tub is private & large BBQ area is great. There's loads of space for the children to play, they loved feeding time at the animal park with Farmer Vic. Thoroughly recommended!

We have recently, and reluctantly, returned from a week in the South Wing. A large family group enjoying a much needed and long awaited post pandemic trip. We could not have found a better property. Lots of space to get together and lots of spaces for some peace and quiet. Amazing property, wonderful location, and Vic and Rachel are extraordinary hosts. Our only problem was having to leave.

Our family (9 persons) have just spent three wonderful nights at this place. With an age range of 72 to 2, it was perfect for everyone. Beautifully positioned and safe for all, it is a fabulous place to use as a base to tour around or just laze around at. Our property was fabulous, well appointed and fitted out. The staff were very helpful and Farmer Vic invited the kids to feed the animals while we were there. We only had one minor complaint. the peacocks screeching at about 4.30 every morning and throughout the day. We intend to go back next year and will take earplugs or a shotgun. Only kidding! The place is FABULOUS.

Incredible. This place is amazing, we had the perfect family holiday here. There is so much for to do with the playground, farm animals and bbq area. Everything had been thought of to make the stay as good as possible. Thanks to Farmer Vic and the team.

This is such a gorgeous location and set up. So perfect for our family get together and the staff were helpful and accommodating too. The kids loved the farm enclosure and helping out.

A wonderful little place. Quality accommodation, with very high standards of up keep. Excellent grounds, creatively laid out to include large children's space, different BBQ zones, fenced dog walk and exercise area and spacious game field, not to mention the animals in the orchard to wonder through. Definitely out in the country with the comforts of home.

Just returned from a belated family special birthday. It was so good to at last get-together, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Elliot House, it was just perfect for us, the private and safe enclosed courtyard was ideal for us with two youngsters and a little dog and the house itself served us well. All in all it was just a perfect break for us, with age groups ranging from 5 years old to 73 years old!! All were very happy. We did have a little problem with the showers, however, we did not complain because everything else was just perfect.

Great last minute night away, the accommodation was great and the playing area was perfect. It's also a nice touch to be able to walk around with the animals.

Would return very happily.

We had a wonderful catch up as a group of 8 friends, staying in the old wine cellar at Oakerthorpe - a very peaceful setting. Even with 2 put-up beds there was plenty of space in the property and it was a very comfortable weekend.
Rachel was incredibly helpful throughout the booking process: answering our questions very quickly. There was a great visitor book full of nice walks. We went to Hardwick Hall for the afternoon, which was very enjoyable. Thank you for such a lovely stay full of fun memories for us. We will be back!

Had a family reunion weekend here last winter and I very much enjoyed it. I needed to climb a flight of stairs from the ground floor to my room, but that was the floor with the living area as well where everyone was hanging out, so I endured the stair climb - but it would probably not suit someone who is permanently wheelchair-bound. They had a hot tub, which some of us were delighted to use in the winter evenings.

Great barn conversion with high spec furnishing and décor. Really spacious and owners/manager were helpful and friendly. Was booked for a family get together and all ages are catered for. The farm tour for the kids was great and a real bonus. Would happily book here again.

Beautiful rooms and location and the staff go above and beyond to help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!!

We stayed in the milking parlor grande. No issues at all, everything as advertised. Ideal for larger groups we where a family of 14.

Lovely place for hen parties, or family get together. I went here to provide a Pamper Afternoon with massage and facials for a large group of ladies. I'm a fully qualified Therapist and have visited on a regular basis for a few years now.

Gorgeous accommodation and the animals in the orchard are a real treat. Farmer Vic is possibly the nicest man that has ever lived. He showed us round the animals and let us fetch the eggs from the chicken nests. When I rang to say I'd lost an earring he was super helpful.

We had such a fantastic family break, the kids adored the play area with the playhouse and the animals were a great experience for everyone. Thank you Farmer Vic for the animal feeding session.

Brilliant spot. It was clean, comfortable, and we'll stocked, and the amenities we're amazing. The kids loved playing with the toys and swings and tractors and feeding the animals, but it would also be a great spot to get away without kids.
