Excellent patient care! Went to the Practice for advice on a deep cut on my finger - the nurses took time out from their very busy day to check it and patch me up! So grateful for their advice, thoroughness and excellent care. Thank you to the 2 nurses whose names I failed to ask!

The most difficult part is getting an appointment when the phone lines open. Once you have an appointment things are great and smooth. TV name display and audio is excellent for you to know where to go

I must thank the Practice staff for dealing so quickly with a request for a doctor's visit for my elderly cousin this morning. The efficiency, speed and care exercised was excellent. Very much appreciated.

Recently moved to the area and had my first midwife appointment and am so surprised how helpful and knowledgeable the midwives were compared to the information I received at my old practice. Registering at the GP was very easy too.

Were lucky to have free access to medical experts and I can't understand why anybody would leave a negative review 😁

This doctors is brilliant for seeing babies! Every time I’ve needed my baby to be seen they have always given him an appointment. I took him in over a month ago to see a male doctor I can’t think of his name . He checked him over and said he was fine and said “well at least it’s not meningitis, you can go now” I couldn’t believe how rude he was, I was literally in shock. My son was still unwell a week later and I really dreaded going back, they make you feel like an over paranoid mother. Lucky I did, the doctor I saw that time was amazing! Checked my son over properly and sent him straight to hospital with rsv where he had to stay in the hospitals for a week on oxygen. If you feel there is something wrong with your baby keep going back no matter how the doctors make you feel!! Most of the doctors here are amazing, but this doctor was so rude the whole appointment and you could tell he just didn’t want us there.

No reception on some parts of the facility which can leave some patients confused.

Online booking isn't very efficient. I have spent days/weeks trying to book appointments online - to be told almost every-time “there are no appointments available”. This new surgery was supposed to help fix the old problem of it being difficult to get an appointment... can’t help but wonder what good this new building has done..? Because it certainly hasn’t fixed the problem... Seems like the concern over spending was how modern it looked, rather than getting more doctors to treat people. Its been just as difficult as before getting appointments; been no improvement whatsoever as far as I can tell. Have been advised to attend a ‘drop in’ appointment instead. What seems logical to me is rather than use that time for free-for-all appointments, you could perhaps actually use that time for BOOKABLE appointments.. I think you’ll find most people do not want to spend potential hours of their afternoon suffering in a waiting room, nor do many even have the time to do that.

The fact I had to register back to this surgery after moving back to Porthcawl angers me, it's the same story as the old Portway, appointments are few and far between. The way the surgery is run is not efficient enough for a big area like Porthcawl, especially in summer when they take on patients from the holiday camp. If this surgery was run like Kenfig Hill's surgery it would be far better. Also, the dozy red head in reception looks like she could do with a good night's sleep and a cup of coffee, her manner for someone who works front of house is appalling.

You best hope you're not ever sick in porthcawl cause the GP surgery sucks. Reception just let the phone ring, don't have a clue what they're talking about and are usually pretty blunt/rude.

The booking process they use - does not work- it has never worked.
Do not make sick people queue outside a building to make an appointment- its inhumane!

Where is the duty of care?

What happened to the on-line booking system?

The call back system does not work.

I have come off the phone again this morning in tears.

I cant believe that its 2023 and we cant just make an appointment for in a few days time??

Some serious training is needed her- customer services can go on the top of the list.
Second - investment into a real booking system. I promise you- your users and staff will thank you!

The doctors and nurses are fine - the trick is getting to speak to one. The system they have for booking appointments is atrocious, and is clearly failing on all sides. There is no reason that I can see why we shouldn’t be able to book appointments online again like we used to. If you’re understaffed - get more staff. If you can’t run this practice to a satisfactory level then don’t run it at all. There are no excuses for this - if no one there is able to work out how to improve your appointment booking system then get someone in that can and will.
