As a member of the airfield I can say it is like a whole new world out there, the staff are very nice and always talk and there are always lots of amazing obscure aircraft out there.

Flown in a number of times. The facilities were well maintained, ground crew and instructors were friendly.

If you are flying in solo in an aircraft that is hard to manually push back I found that the parking could be a bit challenging. However, the ground crew were more than happy to help, just ask information for a hand pushing back, I found they were more than happy to help. Landing fee is £15 which is very reasonable. Overall, very much worth a visit via land or air.

The Leicestershire Aero Clun operate this General Aviation aerodrome and were established over 90 years ago. They operate a fleet of club aircraft for training and hire by members. Many club members own their own aircraft which are based here. The clubhouse has been converted from the WW" control tower and has a pleasant lounge with meals at lunchtime from Tuesday to Sunday. The menu is very good and, in particular, the soup is homemade and absolutely delicious as is the coffee. Being a members club visitors need to be sponsored by a club member, but this is not a problem usually. At the weekend the airfield is a great place to watch light aircraft taking off and landing plus there is ample space and tables outside on the grass for picnics.

Fantastic airport. We arrived in Flexwing aircraft and the full team at Leicester Airport were superb. The fuel guys were very professional as were the office staff, really friendly throughout. Great Cafe too. Thanks for the welcome and service.

I think what you do is Amazing. I live in oadby and have never even once heard any aircraft noise. Thank you for running such a great place and giving those who love the air an avenue to do what they love

Great local airfield. Electric flight is soon to be with us in the coming years. Those that complain about noise will soon be satisfied when the noise subsides to a gentle hum of electric aircraft. We need local infrastructure such as Leicester Aerodrome, especially in the future with all the delivery and flight technology that is already in testing. Electric aircraft will be safer and less annoying to the local community. Get behind your local aerodrome you never know your Amazon parcel may be delivered from here ? Plus the training craft will be electric.

People are unbelievable, this airfield has been active since 1942. It's a lovely friendly place providing jobs and leisure. They choose to buy a house near the airfield knowing it is there and suddenly it's a nuisance for them? Be careful what you wish for. Our local airfield had the same community of 'I know my rights' moaners - right up until they saw the development plans for a stadium and concert venue with high density housing. Suddenly, that nice green space where they walk their dog and take their children to the cafe to watch the aeroplanes was a wonderful local amenity and all that tough meadow grass was a benefit to the natural environment.

Goodness! Did someone complain they couldn't book a flight out?!?! Apparently they offer flight lessons too. I've never been inside but I take my son to catch an occasional plane taking off - it can be quite infrequent but exciting for us all.

My only negative would be that the planes aren't loud enough, maybe they could fly lower as well, especially over Evington and Oadby 🙂

Wow! Great airport to go to. I suggest taking one of the Cessena 172 Float planes and this plane will be my very own. I will use this to rescue most people and sometimes transport passengers and do deliveries.
