Coaltown Coffee Roasters

A fantastic coffee roastery in Ammanford, Wales. We went to visit the Observation Point and decided to stop by at Coaltown for a lunch time coffee. This is probably the best coffee in Wales, the cafe has a old fashion minning atmosphere with solid wooden tables and soft cushioned chairs which makes it comfortable. The staff here are very nice and friendly and the service is good. We ordered 3 cappuccinos and a ramblejack bar to share, the coffee was delicious as was the bar. I would say maybe a slightly bigger cup for the cappuccino for the price you pay.
Other than that, we had a very good experience and bought a packet of Prana Chai to take home. There is seating upstairs as well. I will definitely purchase some of their coffee in the future to make at home and will visit again when I come to Wales.
If your in Ammanford, Swansea or Llanelli it's worth a trip - Highly Recommend!

A must visit when in the area. Great coffee and chai lattes, and the baked goods… oh.my. 😍 Service is extremely friendly (thanks again Steph!) and they allow dogs as well. 🥰 Bought coffee as well to prolong the experience at home. 👍🏻 Will definitely visit again! Thanks guys! 🫶🏻

A hidden gem just outside Ammanford town centre. Very Rustic decor and thats the charm!!! The young lad does the best cappuccino in the county. Quirkiness at its best and symbolism for times past in Ammanford. It would be good to have tours on how they the package the coffee. You pay a bit more but its good coffee and the sugary treats are good..

The food was delicious cake, the coffee was lovely and great service from super staff.

I've been a bit of a fan of Coaltown coffee for a while, drinking it in other coffee ☕ shops ( namely in Llanelli) but this was the first time I've been in their own coffee shop. Really nice, used it as a meeting place with an old friend, service was great, lovely ambience about the place and of course great coffee. I'd go out of my way to drop in again.

Great experience today. Staff really welcoming and efficient - much improved. The coffee is always delicious and the lemon drizzle cake was superb.

Went here randomly on a small drive and I have to say it is fantastic. The coffees taste amazing, its dog friendly and the staff is super friendly. Price slightly higher than normal for the size of the coffee but price doesn't matter when taste and presentation is so good. Will definitely be going back more

Such a cool experience being inside the roastery, awesome equipment/eco cups, and love the boards telling the story/purpose/mission of the place, much respect for the ethics ✌ staff are super nice too, very chatty and make you feel so welcome.
Now the important bit, the coffees!
We had our usuals - decaf latte, decaf oat flat white.
Latte - really excellent taste, perfect temperature (not too hot), spot on texture (not too thick/thin). I was quite surprised that the standard is only a single shot though - this is what I ordered for my first one and it was much too weak. I watched the other half of the double shot being split away from my cup, and presumably discarded, so when I ordered a double shot latte the next time round I was a bit surprised to pay extra for the other half of the shot! Really would love it if the standard was a double shot in a latte, to be the same as what I've found to be in all the other coffee shops on our 'decent coffee' list.
Flat white was perrrrrfect though.
We will be back!!

Fantastic place - amazing coffee, delicious cake, great atmosphere and also made our dog feel welcome!! We were even given a very informative tour of the roastery by Amelia, one of the friendly staff members. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area!

Great coffee roasters, offering a range of single origin and tasteful blends of specialty coffee beans. Always freshly roasted. Get a brew at the roastery, buy fresh beans or order online. None of the beans I tried so far from these roasters failed me, and I tried quite a few roasters now (check coffeediff.co.uk)

Every now and then you stumble across a place that reawakens your love of something. As a big fan of coffee I had become accustomed to the ultra branded style of pumpkin this and spiced that, forever drowning myself in mediocrity disguised as choice.
Then we passed this place. After a few days we decided to leave our coffee comfort zone and give it a go. One sip later and my taste buds suddenly awoke from the years of troubled slumber they had previously been experiencing.
I won't insult the English language by trying to describe how and why this coffee was so much better, this is something you will have to indulge in for yourself. I will only say that if you're within a few miles of this postcode and you claim to like coffee, then you need to get here.

Amazing place, great staff great food and great drinks. Everything is prepared with care. I wish them the best of luck with this venture and hopefully we get one in London or Surrey soon.

Honestly I only popped in to charge my power bank. Turns out the coffee is great, affordable and the staff are super nice. Quirky place, you can see right through to their roasters next door. Dog friendly too- loved watching a black lab sit for treats from the staff whilst I ordered

Great dog-friendly coffee venue. Ideal for a meeting just off the motorway. Proper coffee too.
