Hunters Lodge 2 is simply an amazing lodge!

Set in a great location over-looking the stunning lake. The grounds are beautiful and have to be walked around. The hottub was perfect, so private and under a beautiful canopy of trees.

We had daily visits from the Ducks, Coots, Robins, Bluetits and squirrels. What more could we ask for!

Our hosts Paul and Sarah were so friendly, helpful and there for anything during our stay... and after, went above and beyond to return a necklace i left behind - thank you so much!! They clearly love Indio Lake and the beautiful surrounding area.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay, so much so we only left the lodge for our daily walk into Bovey Tracey for supplies and a couple of days out. A lovely town, lots of friendly people and can totally recommend the Whisky tasting at Dartmoor Whisky Distillery, so interesting and tastes amazing.

Parke is a great day out and a gorgeous walk, could have gone back again and again.

If you love nature, relaxing and hot tubs this has to be your next holiday lodge. Thank you Paul and Sarah, we will be back 💕

Stayed at number 2 for my birthday weekend, absolutely loveved it, clean, spacious accommodation, well supplied kitchen, big TV and DVD player, not that it was used that much! Beds nice and comfy, hotrun out on the decking was lovely, and privacy from the neighbours was excellent! Also with walking distance of the town and an amazing pub for Sunday lunch! Would love to come back again!

Idyllic setting around a private lake packed with wildlife. Lodges have lake views and are spaced so as not to feel cramped. Our lodge was spotlessly clean and had good facilities including en suite, washer, dishwasher, Wi-Fi and hot tub. Owner very helpful and give us the history of the site, would highly recommend.

Just returned from a great week staying in Haytor Lodge 9. The lodge itself is like a home from home...everything you would need has been thought of. The site is so tranquil and relaxing with 2 lakes teeming with wildlife. The site is perfectly located for easy access to Dartmoor and several beaches are just a short drive away. Lots to do in the area we barely scratched the surface. Recommended for couples and families alike.

We stayed in No. 2 Indio Lake in August 2020. The location is great for exploring Dartmoor, but also not too far from the coast and interesting towns such as Totnes. The lodge is well equipped, the hot tub had recently been replaced and new windows and carpets throughout. It is spacious and has two bathrooms. No WiFi which is a bit disappointing but signal was fine. It's quite close to the road so you do get some road noise when using the hot tub. I've stayed in a number of lodges and this was probably the best. We ate at the Rock Inn near Haytor which was great, Bovey Tracey has a coop and Tesco express for groceries. Dartmoor is a 10 mins drive away. We visited Parke (NT place) nearby and I would recommend Dartmeet for a walk with the kids. Lovely place, friendly couple who run the site, very relaxing break.

Great setting, we stayed in Lodge 4 which had a large deck overhanging the lake. It was well presented, the kitchen is well equipped, 2 bedrooms with comfortable beds, 2 bathrooms and lovely and clean throughout. It’s a very peaceful site and only a 18 minutes walk or so into Bovey Tracey where there are a varied choice of shops and places to eat. Would definitely book again.

We had been dying for this holiday since we booked it in July. It was an alternative to our wedding that was supposed to be October, It didn't disappoint!!
On arrival to the lodge we felt sheer excitement when we seen it! Huccaby lodge no3, nestled in the most private part of the beautiful site.
There was a fabulous lake onsite with lots of wildlife.
On entering our lodge we were so happy that this was going to be home for the next 2 weeks. A lovely little touch was the lindt chocolates and wine on the counter for us. We really enjoyed them.
Spacious, extremely clean and well presented, it had such a cosy feel and the views of the forestry outside was lovely, with a few squirrel sitings.
Sarah and Paul were brilliant, very welcoming and helpful, the hot tub and decking were cleaned daily.
As we stayed 2 weeks they offered to change our towls and sheets halfway but we were happy just washing it ourselves as the lodge had a washer dryer. There was also a hoover and mop and bucket to ensure you could keep your place clean which I really liked.
The kitchen was fully equipped so we were able to make lovely meals each night.
The bed was very comfortable and there were 2 bathrooms, one with a very good pressured shower and another with a bath.
The hot tub itself was very comfortable, circular and different height seats in it.
On an evening if you turned your lodge lights off the stars in the sky were very obvious, just stunning.
The location itself for us was really good. It was just a 30 min drive to the likes of torquay , Paignton and brixham. Other places we were absolutely wowed at were cockington village and dartmouth, a little further 40 mins to 1hr drive but well worth it.
There were many walks nearby to our lodge, only about 10 to 20 mins drive away, stover Park to feed the ducks and squirrels, dartmoor national park, canonteign falls which was a highlight for me and haytor rock and the dartmoor wild ponies. Perfect location.
The only downsides I can think is if you prefer to go out for meals and drinks on an evening the location isn't the best for this. Also there is a lot of spiders and bugs around which was a small bit problematic as I'm petrified.
All in all A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE, thank you Sarah and Paul!

We stayed for a long weekend and have just got back. There are so many fabulous things to say about this site, I don’t know where to begin.. firstly the site managers are wonderfully welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They keep the site looking beautiful and they should be really proud of what they’ve achieved! The cabin we stayed in was stunning, well equipped and beautifully laid out with views you wish you could wake up to every morning, it’s quiet, relaxing and we spent hours watching the wildlife around the lake. Indio Lake has a special place in our heart, which is why we came back to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we fell in love with it all over again. We'll be back next year.

We stayed for a week in Aug 2020 with our two primary-school age kids in Lodge 14 which is right at the far end of the lake. I can’t rate this property highly enough. Really clean, well fitted and maintained, high spec indoors with a huge decked veranda outside overlooking the lake and a lovely secluded hot-tub.
If I had to find any negative it would be the lack of WiFi and slightly patchy phone signal (we are not internet junkies but with changeable weather it made planning days out on the fly a bit harder). The metal drain pipes also mean it can be a bit noisy in a storm if you are a light sleeper but that’s the only things I can find to say against it and I’m being nit-picky.
Paul & Sarah who manage site are extremely helpful and friendly and the site itself is well kept and has small grass area to kick a football and generally run around with young ones etc.
It has easy access being not far from the A38 and a great place to explore the area. We would strongly recommend the Stover Country Park, Canonteign Falls and Parke (Nat Trust)
Bovey Tracey is a nice place with shops, pubs, takeaways etc and a nice park. Recommend the Phoenix pub in Chudleigh for food - we used their takeout service which was excellent
5-star rating well deserved and I’m sure we will go back in the near future.
